What's your attitude on breeding/pregnancy?

I'm just curious about this because fundamentally sex IS about breeding. It was transformed in the last decades into a "for fun" activity, along with the discovery of birth control methods to the point where sex feels completely disconnected from breeding...

But at the end of the day that's what sexual attraction is about and that's the end goal, not to fuck around with contraception or fuck with your hand.

I am asking this because my attitude about breeding has been extremely weird and off ever since I remember and while i do want kids, the thought and act itself of getting a woman pregnant doesn't even exist in my mind. It's like my operating system lacks that app or program.

It's like all of the "sex positive" propaganda and porn and masturbation completely removed that part of me... i was just thinking about it this morning and for me sex is anything BUT getting a woman pregnant.

I mean, I dated, had crushes, had sex, and only God knows how much porn I watched, but never have i considered and had an interaction with a woman with a purpose like.. "yeah, i want to get her pregnant" or "she'd make for a good mother"

Sex is just the bait of nature to lure her members into breeding. Sex is also about communication, socializing, relationships, emotional bonding, stress reducing and community in general, same as it is about the single factor, that offspring might be conceived by a heterosexual union. If you doubt that (and I am sure, you do) start to read about ape studies. Especially the Bonobos.

Sex is about breeding, the rest are secondary and can be obtained without sex.

There is no other type of union.

Bonobos are multi-male (promiscuous species) can't be compared to humans as humans are not like that.

    You don´t say.

Of course they can be compared, they are as close to humans as chimpanzees by their DNA.

  5. Breeding is about breeding. Sex on the other hand can mean 98 different things to 100 people. We operate on more "complex" or "higher" level, I would say than most of the animal kingdom, where we are driven or influenced by much more than just biological need or compulsion. Just my thought regardless if right or wrong.

There may be more to “breeding” than just impregnating a woman. Things like parenting? Or the idea of “I want to have kids” “want a family” “want to be in a loving relationship with the mother of my children” “be a good father”, etc. if someone just thinks of themselves as an animal looking to breed then maybe they just “breed” when it make sense to them or when someone “accidentally” doesn’t remember to take / use birth control. If someone just wants to have sex just for the sake of having sex then “it’s just sex” is the typical mindset and “breeding” usually just leaves them with the title “baby-daddy” and maybe a child support payment...

Are you asking the question why haven’t you had the “aha moment” where you said “dude I want to impregnate that one!!” ??

Or is there something more philosophical to your post? Are you asking what the reasons men want to “breed” are because you are curious why you haven’t wanted that yourself? (Which is what I think you may be alluding to with your point about not having had this desire in previous relationships or crushes or sexual experiences) Or are you asking if the whole concept of breeding is just not even necessary since we we can just pretty much have sex for fun now? I’m not sure I’m following your question on the post exactly...

I have children who I love very much and I was thrilled when I found out my wife was pregnant. I wanted to get married and wanted children - so for me it’s been a much deeper and richer experience than just “breeding” or having a moment where I picked my woman to breed so that generic concept of “breeding” is very foreign to me. I’m not an atheist and don’t believe we (mankind) are just animals so I guess maybe my opinion doesn’t necessarily fit the general philosophy of this thread.

But I want to make sure I understand the question and points being made. I can only offer my opinion but I want to at least understand the idea more thoroughly.

    Thanks
