Hello everyone, i became curious why most of people wants to do NoFap for 90 days why it is so special?
Thank you for answer, but i masturbated for 5-6 years,so 90 days will be enough to repair my brain?Your brain will repair 60-80% of your dopamine receptors during this time.
Ok good to knowSomeone wrote a book and made up a theory about those 90 days being a "reboot" from "porn addiction".
It has not been proven in peer-reviewed studies anywhere. It's just broscience.
Hmm interestingOnce you make the decision to stop masturbating in presence of any sexual triggers forever, your brain is repaired at that day.
Well recently i found how to calculate how much time you need to reboot. You have to put years that you masturbated and multiply it by 2 and you will know how much months you need, for example i masturbated 6years so 6x2 is 12months so i need 1 year to reboot ,idk if its true or not but i think thats average time i need to heal.It might take you a few years to get there though. If one is still doing mental gymnastics about how some "quick release" can't be harmful or how evil instagram chicks force one to masturbate, they still have a long way to go. Every addiction starts with being in denial and overcoming that denial.
This is interesting. Did you discover masturbation before porn? I am wondering where is best to count it from. I was masturbating a long time before I discovered pornography.Well recently i found how to calculate how much time you need to reboot. You have to put years that you masturbated and multiply it by 2 and you will know how much months you need, for example i masturbated 6years so 6x2 is 12months so i need 1 year to reboot ,idk if its true or not but i think thats average time i need to heal.
Yes i discovered masturbation first then porn i started to count it when i had my first orgasmThis is interesting. Did you discover masturbation before porn? I am wondering where is best to count it from. I was masturbating a long time before I discovered pornography.
This is completely unfounded in medical research regarding any addiction.
Yea bro when i was younger my max record was 1-2weeks then i relapsed and i kept trying and trying but now everything is easier now 1-2 weeks is easy for me i think im healing my addiction i don't get sexual thoughts and many other things that interrupt my nofap journey only urges but they aren't so strong compared when i was youngerAddiction is a strange phenomena. It seems to affect different people in different ways.
I see the original 30 day challenge as a kind of test - if you can do it easily, you probably aren't addicted (doesn't mean you won't be better off without porn though). If the first few weeks were a struggle, but it got easier, best carry on to 90 days to make sure you don't go back to square one as soon as the challenge is up. If, like me, you are so addicted that you can't even do 30 days, then you have serious addiction problems and you need to carefully examine your triggers, causes of your addictions etc. and develop a clear strategy for your next attempt.
Wow this is amazing benefits that i need90 days of nofap (hardmode) 0 fantasing, 0 edging, 0 pornography, 0 watching triggering things, 0 masturbation - will be enough to feel like a new person who has motivation, energy, confidence - regardless of how long have you masturbated.

This is about cocaine. If you don't research in good faith, then don't research at all. Better to be ignorant than misinformed."In human cocaine abusers, the reductions in D2 receptor concentrations persist into abstinence (Volkow et al., 1993). It is difficult to draw conclusions about the duration of this effect, however, since all of the participants had relapsed by the end of a few months. Furthermore, it is possible that lower D2 receptor concentrations may have predated drug use. In animal models where greater control over environmental and pharmacological variables can be exercised, Nader and colleagues have reported that D2 receptor availability following limited (less than a month) cocaine exposure in nonhuman primates, recovered to control levels after only 1–3 weeks. However, this was not the case when longer periods (12 months) of exposure to cocaine self-administration were investigated. Here, recovery was found in only 60% of the monkeys within 3 months, whereas in the other 40% there was no evidence of recovery even after as long as a year after the cessation of cocaine use. These data emphasize the significance of the exposure period prior to the discontinuation of drug use. It is likely that because of the relatively short periods of exposure used in many studies using animal models, the intensity and duration of many neuroadaptations may be underestimated."

That's an infographic with no sources other than the account who posted it. The account ("pornaddiction") is affiliated with a website called www.pornaddiction.com. Clearly a biased site. Found the infographic from their website: http://pornographyaddiction.com/porn-viewing-effects-on-dopamine-levels-infographic/. It's the same image, but also has no sources, links, or other resources. You left me with no way to fact check any of this data.Yeah it's about cocaine and? https://visual.ly/community/Infographics/health/porn-effects-dopamine-levels as we can see pornography doesn't increase as much dopamine as cocaine. So it's even easier to regenerate the dopamine receptors.
