Why can't make habit of doing something with lot of interest

We have been through a period where we have spend many hours seeing porn continuously. But why we can't study or spend on some project for that many hours that we can spend on porn. I know reward system and dopamine effect. Is there any method to make strong habit for things which are beneficial for us.
