Why do I feel like I will eventually relapse?

So I am currently on my longest streak of PMO ever. I have gone 22 days without PMO on hardcore mode. I keep affirming to myself that I will never do PMO again, but why do I keep holding on to this belief that I will eventually relapse or that "my time will come" (no pun intended)? Do any of you feel this? I want to be on hardmode for the rest of my life...or until I find a girlfriend.

you must walk away from all sexual stuff and any of their substitutes.
And you must kill all your dirty thoughts in order to control your body instead of letting thoughts control you!
And you must come here everyday and make notes for people's failing past and bad expereince.
Because you didn't realize the consequence of it, and you would never quite it.
You must feel fear to quite it:

I have found that I have to be a porn 'hater' in order to solidify my belief that my change is for life.
While here on no NF, I have been educated that porn is nothing but evil. I never knew at how young an age children and teens are being victimized by the evils of porn. Porn is evil and vile, and I want nothing to do with it.

My other tool is to see my freedom from masturbation as a new level of maturity. Toddlers learn that urinating and pooping on oneself, although a natural process, needs to be controlled and is only appropriate in a toilet. As a man, I have come to understand that while orgasm is a natural process, masturbating myself is not appropriate, and orgasms should be limited to appropriate sexual experiences with others.

I enjoy the restored sense of dignity and integrity which I enjoy for the duration of my days, far more than I would enjoy the momentary buzz of masturbation. No more lies and secrets!

I think that part of it too is that your brain wants you to relapse and it is tricking you into thinking you will. It wants that dopamine hit that you are depriving it from. That is a good thing. You are doing great. Keep up the great work! Stay strong!

Do you guys believe there is another "person" living inside of you? I'm starting to feel like a schizophrenic because I keep having conversations with myself. I'm literally reasoning with him everytime something comes up and at times I'm practically yelling at him mentally.

Congrats mate on 22 days , enjoy it. On the relapse issue I think thats its normal to have the urge to relapse when you are rebooting because the brain was wired to get that pleasure form PMO now you have stopped so its reacting in the form of urging to relaspe. So try to ignore it. If you anytime feel your urges to relaspe are strong you can look upon these points that I try to take, to know about these click here.

22 days keep it going, control I know its hard but still give it a try, after sometime your brain will get rewired till that time get hold on the brain of yours . Try to emphasis on what good you are going to achieve if you continue your streak.

You dont know how much I can relate to this..

The thing is that between you wanting to avoid Pmo and your brain telling you to lead to Pmo will be an enternal struggle.. like feeding the right wolf.

Like @ILoathePorn said, your deprived brain will do anything to get you to release dopamine in various different circumstances. E.g. I find myself lately my brain is constantly telling me that I should reward myself with self-pleasure or that I'm not faithfully rewiring, tricking me to start all over again.. It's all in your head.

Yeah sometimes it feels that way. Then I have this other voice that says stop it very loudly. That helps when the fantasies want to start. So yeah sometimes it does feel that way.

Our human minds works in a way were we want to DO SOMETHING instead of wanting to DON'T DO SOMETHING.
This works well with the word "NO", saying I will NOT eat cake is the same as saying I want to eat cake really bad, to the subconscious mind.
Since in my native language (Portuguese) the word "never" can be used to make a sentence in negative form, just like you did, I wonder if it has the same effect.
I believe the problem is with what you're saying, you're telling yourself that you will relapse, without realising what you are doing. Using another word like "stop" instead "never" or reformulating the phrase will have a better impact.

    Hey buddy,

A lot of times I have had the same thoughts about relapsing. That its eventually going to happen no matter what I do. However, I think that it will take some time but subside because I have realized that NoFap is in fact sustainable. If you understand a little bit of physics, what you are referring to is the concept of an unstable system. Which basically means that there is a lower energy state for the object in question that the object will eventually move towards. The same can be said about NoFap if we consider sexual energy. However, sexual energy that is not released will eventually convert itself into drive for other meaninful aspects of your life. It takes time but this happens.

If you didnt get what I am saying, just Google unstable systems.
