Why do some people here show sympathy to pornstars?

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Mar 26, 2018.

  1. They don't deserve any sympathy. I read here some people saying no good things on pornstars..how can you say good things about these people. They are not a real woman or man. They just made us a puppet for money and left us addicted to them. So next time plz don't show your useless sympathy to them.

if anyone needs mercy it's me for having spent most of my life not caring about how intrusive and selfish my thoughts and behaviors are/were.

For some of those people I think that's how they coped with their dysfunctional environment. Some or even many may do this because they see it as their only financial opportunity.

I honestly feel they deserve at least as much if not far more sympathy than me. I can't judge them. I'm already desperate not to be judged.

They dont force us to watch. Our brain does. They are still people.

  4. If there was no demand then there would be no pornstars, people who view it are just as much to blame. Often porn stars are recruited by pimps or other porn stars and sold a lie about how glamorous their lives will be, how much money they will make etc. The reality is for many of them the life gets more difficult to live and they turn to drugs to get through those punishing scenes. When they try to leave it's difficult because for some it's all they have done, then they have to try and make it in the normal world that everyone else lives in knowing that their videos are plastered all over the internet. You will probably say 'well they should have thought about that before they got into it' but naievety plays a part and also coerscion, desperation, or a way to feed a drug habbit. Many people make poor choices in life and then live to regret it (including me)

Here is a good interview with a real porn star which will give you an insight

Contrary to your opinion, they are human beings.

They do what they do to earn for a living, just as the rest of us do. The only difference is we sell our talent, they sell their bodies.

@Never Give Up !!, you sound like you're not willing to take your responsibility for watching porn. Did any of those porn stars forced you into watching their videos? I don't think so. So how about you stop blaming them and focus on what to do with your problem instead?

He is right they are not real human beings. They are pixels, actors done up in costumes pretending to be something that isn't real, selling you a lie. You don't know the real person, and be glad you don't as most sex workers are an absolute mess. Not to mention you don't see them without makeup, you don't see the massive blemishes, you don't smell her when she stinks, or know about the diseases that the majority have. You don't know what an utter basket case the person might be and how miserable it is to be around them

If feeling bad for pornstars works for you to stop this bad habit, great, but it doesn't for everyone. People who idolize these tramps have a problem, and it can make a big difference to pop the fantasy bubble and stop idolizing these people who are actually real low lives.

    WTF?

First off, I'm not blaming anyone.

I don't know anything about Microsoft or Sony " brainwashing our youth and fucking their lives up early" , but if they are doing that or say your local drug dealer is pushing on children. That is not the fault of the children that is the drug dealers fault.

I'm not talking about posting blame. I'm only saying don't idolize pornstars that seeing through the veneer could be very helpful with someone who has an obsession with a particular pornstar. I'm not suggesting you treat your ex or your girlfriend like shit, lol. They are actually real people. What you see on screen is not. You owe them nothing.

As for the profession, it's a disgusting and shameful one and it does harm people. To use the same line of thinking a previous poster used that "if there was no demand there would be no porn", You can also say if there was no one doing porn no one would watch porn.

If people were more stable healthy and moral there would be no demand for porn, but people are corrupted by society as children and as adults and yes pornography is a big part of that corruption. Most pornstars are strippers and hookers as well especially the big time ones. From my experience, most of those people are completes pieces of shit. You go into a strip club and you are dealing with a bunch of vampires who at best want to manipulate and cock tease lonely drunken men into giving up their cash. They have no problem taking advantage of some mentally ill person or old messed up dude and basically stealing all his money. That is even if they are not involved with crime and they set someone up for a mugging or worse.

Depends on the porn stars. I have no sympathy for the new generation of trans porn stars who are peddling self/forced feminization and findom narratives to their unsuspecting "fans" through Patreons and other e-begging methods. These people are bilious and only exist to make money off perpetuating a social ill that affects the most vulnerable and listless.

The consumers of this shit do it to themselves obviously, however these people peddling this noise know what they're doing. And for the cultists and adherents I have no sympathy for people who are self-indulgent and aim to recruit others at the same time.

  15. @Message - I didn't notice that you had actually "liked" my comment on paragraphs and punctuation. I think I may have missed some irony/sarcasm/humor. If so, sorry about that!

I don't see how peddling these sorts of narratives is any better or worse than other types of porn. Would you mind elaborating on why you have no sympathy for such people? Are you trying to argue that you have sympathy for porn stars, but that once the porn crosses into the realm of findom and related fetishes that you start to lose sympathy? If so, why?

Are you speaking from experience here? I think it's obvious that the porn industry depends on addicts to continue generating money for the producers, but I'm not sure the actors in the videos have any intent about fueling the addictions of their viewers. For a lot of the actors, I imagine it feels like a choice between starving and living on the streets, or acting in porn. Even if some of the porn actors are aware of the roles they play in the addictions of some of their viewers, I don't think that's something that really crosses their minds when they decide to act in porn. As others have stated in this thread, many porn actors are coerced into the industry by pimps and producers, many of them are adapting to the horrible environments they already live in, many of them are using porn as a way to cope with their own addictions to drugs or alcohol, and many of them feel like they simply have no other options financially. I don't think that a porn star would see themselves or their careers as taking advantage of people who are addicted to porn, but rather as one of few options that might get them by. Having said all that, I don't think it's fair to say they "know what they're doing" and place responsibility on them.

There's plenty of blame to go around, I think. If it weren't for the people producing and distributing porn, people wouldn't become addicted, but if people didn't watch it in the first place, nobody would get into it in the first place. It's a vicious cycle, but it has to stop somewhere. Ultimately we are all responsible for our own action. They can just walk off the set and never go back to porn. Maybe it will be difficult, but hey, you've got to start somewhere. It may as well be today.

The flip side of that, of course, is that we can just stop watching porn and never go back to it. There's nothing forcing us to. Maybe it will be difficult, but hey, you've got to start somewhere. It may as well be today.

What we do is within our control, and it matters. It matters for us as individuals, and it matters for the overall health of society. It's time to stop screwing around or wasting time and energy on being angry at the people who helped us get into bad circumstances and start focusing on healing ourselves and taking responsibility for our own part in the mess that society is in.
