  2. I'm willing to bet that it's probably been there all along, and you just haven't been noticing it before you started this streak. With that being said, please don't let that lead you back to PMO. It's not worth it.

This is part of what NoFap is about, it makes any underlying issues that might actually be fueling your addiction to PMO more visible, and that's a good thing. It's giving you the opportunity to find out what those issues are, and to treat them appropriately.

    Good luck to you! :D

I think it’s a result of increasing anxiety when you aren’t medicating with pmo.

Many times I noticed I get what my kids call “cleaning attacks” when I’m feeling anxious. My family loves it since it allows them to not have to clean.

What type of ocd are you suffering from?
If you don't want to answer, that"s no problem at all.
Just curious if i have a similar type as yours.

My guess is that the same would be true if you started doing some kind of relaxing drug. Masturbation is like a drug. It makes you feel good and relaxed you, so if you're doing it all the time, you can feel good. But just like other drugs, that doesn't mean it isn't unhealthy for you.

And just like other drugs, when you decide to quit, it can feel like the wrong decision because withdrawal makes you feel like crap. But you just have to keep at it until you get past that stage.

I have OCD - I know exactly what you are going through - PMO was our safety blanket- we used it to distract and silent the thoughts

the safety blanket is gone now - that means the OCD is going to hit you like a bloody tonka truck

You need to develop new habits to replace the un healthily ones

Please watch videos from Mark freeman - I think hes the best in this subject - his videos really helped me

    and

Please watch theses to get started

like others have said, its the self-medicating effect. I have the same struggle though, ironically, I have anti anxiety meds from my doc. I hate taking pills though, so I PMO instead. of course that ends up being way worse in the long (and short) run.

those of us with OCD have to find a substitute. a good detail-oriented hobby (or cleaning as mentioned above) are a good start i think.

Because you have a deep inner subconscious connections from your past that shape your percetion of the future. They probably give you anxiety, or depression in more severe cases. When you PMO, since you know it's not the greatest choice, you do it to submerge that inner feeling(your OCD), maybe coupled with uncertainty based within your future, also different stresses like school, work, etc.

thanks ! i haven’t noticed that and i have been doing researching ways how to hack your subconscious !

  15. When I first quit PMO I had no idea what I was getting into as far as my ocd goes. I would have obsessive and superstitious thoughts about many things. Numbers and owls especially. Idk if you have noticed but there are so many owl statues and knick knacks EVERYWHERE. things would keep me up at night. I just had to tell myself that sometimes this happens and it is okay in the end. I learned to tell myself that I was having an obsessive thought and since then it has been reduced greatly.

Besides what others have pointed out, feeling hungry can increase anxiety, and increased anxiety will make ocd more challenging to deal with.

Make sure you still eat plenty of protein and fats. Also eat lots of vegetables, they are filling and contain nutrients that will energize you. Burning calories with exercise is much less hard on you than calorie restriction (although one might need to do both).

If the anxiety problems remain, you might consider going for a slower and more gradual weight loss.
