Why does WET DREAMS feel like a RELAPSE?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Sentinel, Apr 30, 2015.

  1. I had a WD 2 days ago now and I seriously felt like utter shit. Low self-esteem, bad mood, unmotivated and hopeless. I'm staying away from all PMO bullshit and yet this, even though it is natural, FELT just like a relapse afterwards, the whole day and the day after. Not just that, I didn't even dream nothing when it happened. Some creepy shit did occur earlier in that dream though..

If I could just turn off my career for 2 days afterwards (where you feel shittiest) and be home and do nothing, I woulda had no problem with it. Thing is, I can't and I have to be 120% effective all the time, especially these 2 weeks with this project.

How come I feel that way? What can I do not to feel like crap afterwards?

    Thanks!

Bro, it's okay. The WD doesn't count as PMOing (at least that I am aware of...how could it?) Keep the streak alive!

I can understand your frustration with WD's. For me, a WD is one of the most difficult things to control. I give myself a little grace because it is so difficult to control. Give yourself some grace.

    Two quick thoughts...
A WD may in some sense be natural. However, I still choose to take some of the responsibility for it. If I hadn't of put the bullshit pixelated images in my mind in the first place, then the WD's would have most likely not occurred (or occurred a lot less frequently).

Also, the most effective strategy for me with WD's have been to fill my mind with good healthy thoughts (ie truth) before going to bed. If I do this before going to sleep, then I hardly ever have WD's. The difficult part is actually doing it. Be a doer!

Just control your conscious thoughts. That's your responsibility. You can't control the sub conscious. And your body will handle the rest.

Yep. Wet Dreams are not very nice.. But hey. You cant control them. So you'll just have to deal with the things you can control.

I want to say it does get better but I dont really know. I'm on day 57, and I still have the occasional wet dream.
