This new generation wants to castrate themselves every time they have a sexual thought. I get it I'm not like most guys my age. I already gave up on trying to get sex but I think it's stupid how folks shame for wanting to have sex.

Are you really talking about "this new generation", or is it the NoFap community? NoFap is not a good representation of society as a whole. And do you mean casual sex, sex in relationships or even in a marriage?

Where I live, many people are fine with casual sex, and basically everyone is o.k. with pre-marital sex in relationships. And even people who do not want casual sex clearly do not "shame" anybody for wanting to have it.

Just take a look at the media. Sex sells. It does for pop singers, for advertisements, sex scenes in movies and, of course, porn. As long as "sex sells" I am confident we live in an over-sexualized society, rather than a sex-shaming one. If it is different for your generation (you are a decade younger than me), I would welcome this development.

    Are you joking!?

Everything is about sex in this society. Can you provide any research or even media examples of what you say Sezaddict?

I mean this new gen and yes I'm talking casual sex. But most of the guys my age range that I know don't want to have sex and is young guys are stereotyped for being horny and what not yet I only met a few guys in my life that are like that. Even here y'all talk about sex and the urge to have sex as something to be vilified.

  5. Maybe some people do but the overwhelming majority of us are not like this. It’s quite the opposite in fact. Most of us are here to break our porn addictions so we actually can have normal sex.

Ya, thats not what I see. I see a generation of tinder users. a hook up culture. where do you live @Sezaddict10 ? and I dont think its problematic to want to have sex. If I had it my way I would have sex everyday with my wife and our counsellor actually encourages that we have more sex. like @wantabetterlife said most of us are here to help us to have better sex lives by cutting out porn and excessive mo.

Personally, I believe the desire to have sex to be something completely normal. It is a natural instinct. Nevertheless, as humans we don't have to blindly follow our instincts but are able to make conscious decisions. Thus, what you do with your desire is the question, but it is not a moral question either. In the end, you can do whatever you want as long as it's consentual and you're not lying or something; it's just that casual sex never got me anywhere in the past to a point that I deem it self-destructive - at least for me.

I don't know about your friends, though. If they actually do sex-shame you - well, then just don't give a damn and do what feels right to you. You don't have to tell them if you don't want to. In the end, however, I'll stay by my claim that "sex sells" will only work in a society which is already all about sex. Moreover, I worked with teenagers and didn't get the impression they would be shy or something, either. Where exactly do you live, if I may ask, and can your surroundings be attributed by a certain political or religious direction?

I live in Los Angeles,CA and yes my friends sex shame me. That's why I gave up on trying to get sex. I just find it funny how y'all and the guys I know be trying to run from your sex drives. Acting like nuns and sh*t.

It's like the roles have been reversed. Now the young guys aren't stereotypical horny. Maybe it has to do with PMO? That's what I noticed when I visited a college campus. And most guys I know that talk about porn don't appreciate real women.

  10. What the hell are you talking about? So trying to quit porn is running from our sex drives? If that’s what you believe then you shouldn’t even be here, you’re just trolling.

Where did I say that? This was a spin off post from the guy that is going crazy because he has "urges" to have sex with women.

  13. Don’t paint us all as anti-sex just because one guy is going “crazy” over his sexual urges.

The ones here seem to be on that grind. And the Reddit ones. But hey I gave up on trying to get sex just so I can get these folks off my back.

  17. When people say that they’re not suggesting that we shouldn’t want to have sex with women. They’re saying we shouldn’t focus on women while we’re quitting porn, we need to focus on ourselves while we heal.

I just thought it was weird that's all. I mean I'm basically doing the same thing that you guys are doing by giving up on trying to get sex,so I guess I can't judge.
