I think this may provides a valuable perspective for anyone struggling with anything in their life. Be it addiction, emotional issue, or otherwise.

Reflecting back on my hardest struggles, these were always the moments when my life had the most purpose. During my early porn recovery days, I woke up everyday with a solid reason for getting out of bed: do whatever I had to do to feel better and stay away from porn. With this mindset, everything else fell into place. My day was already planned. My every move was intentional. I think because of this, I felt SO good. Regardless of how foggy my brain was or how up and down I was. I had a purpose.

I think many of us look at recovery as an insurmountable obstacle with the destination as the only thing in mind. I suppose what I'm saying is the journey here had SO much purpose and meaning for me, that it almost dwarfs the light at the end of the tunnel. The fire I had in my belly back then was 10x what it is now. Use this struggle to find out what is important, and GO GET IT!

    Fuel up the tanks boys.
