Will NoFap Boost My Confidence?

    Very simple question.

In the last few years, I've become quite a shy, anxious person. I'm happy to talk to people, but I'm quite nervous and not very good at it. Like, I can engage in conversation if I have to, but there's no way I'd be able to go to a random person and strike up a convo.

I've been PMO addicted for 5 or 6 years now, and I'm only 16. Will quitting help with my confidence around people?

Yes. A thousand times yes. It's not the only thing that plays into isolation and reclusion, but I believe it's one of the biggest. Just from two weeks of stopping (and I relapsed once), I've seen huge strides.

In a nutshell, your sexuality becomes normal and you express that by being more outgoing. Much like you would have been if you'd never started.

    100% Yes!
Not only that - it will make you more social, happier, and and all-around better person. Porn creates a shell of shit around our soul, and the longer you're off it, the more free you become. Eventually, you'll find that joyful kid (who you used to be before pmo) is back.

So, on a side note, i'd love to ask you a few questions about your experience (if you're not comfortable answering, no problem):
    1. where were your parents? were you allowed unfiltered internet?
    2. if so, why do you suppose they allowed that?
    3. did you know that PM was bad? were you ever told pm was bad?

The reason i ask is i have a theory that a lot of parents these days are fucking stupid. They allow their kids unfiltered internet which, imo, is like handing your kid a crack pipe. Modern society tells us (western modern society) that P and M are no big deal. Unfortunately, a lot of parents buy into this theory and their kids (such as yourself) suffer for it. This might be a surprise to you but prior to the 60s sexual revolution everyone understood what we here at nofap are rediscovering: P and M is bad for you.

    Interesting story:

I watched a small amount of porn when I was around 9 and my parents found out and banned me from using the internet at all (this was before I discovered M). When I was allowed back on the internet after a few months, I didn't dare watch porn at all after what happened.

Couple of years later, when I discovered M, I started watching porn again and never stopped until now.

To answer question 3, no, I didn't know really. I kind of knew P was bad because I figured that's why my parents punished me, but in terms of M, no i had no knowledge of it's effects, and I'm sure if I did I wouldn't have started.

Hope that's the info you wanted :)
