Wim Hof Method works wonders ! (Cold showers included in practice)

  1. Hi guys!
    I wonder how is possible that such a wonderful tool for wellbeing hasn't been presented there (no results in search window).
    BREATHING+COLD SHOWERS+MEDITATION+COMMITMENT - those are the pillars of the method.
    It directly affects vagus nerve and helps us to put ourselves into 'Rest and digest' system of parasympathetic nervous system instead of be stuck in stressful "fight or flight" sympathetic system. We have natural mechanism to return us to balance.
    It helps with grounding, connecting with the inner self, stabilize emotions, helps to come back to our natural and happy state. It's the simplest method for me to (still) recover and beat PAWS. It returns sense of self and love toward others. It regulate hormones.
    I'm doing it on and off since february but rarely omiting, doing it at least once a day and I tell you, this is the best tool to support and boost recovery for me. It's a combination of breathing method, pushups, stretching, horse stance, cold showers and meditation.

  3. Hi folks! Doesn't anyone here practice the method ? It's really helpful in battling addiction, I wonder how this subject is not present here on NoFAP forum ?

    The question for everyone, how do you not get sick doing cold showers?
    How much "cold" is "cold enough"?
     
  5. You are not getting sick form cold - you are getting sick when you have too much warmth and comfort not balanced by cold exposure ;)
     
  6. This kind of desensitization happens, as I saw on the WHM group, but I never had it to be honest, maybe try more breath (like 40 or 50) per round to feel it.

    a good technique...get a finger pulse oximeter (inexpensive) to monitor your third or fourth hof session, cold shower and meditation...I precede it with qigong ... end day when will power
    is depleted before bed drop phone iPad into a time lock bucket. I get my blood oxygen down to fifties. ‘what doesn’t kill you...’
