    Hey guys,

I've been watching P since about 14 and i'm now 19. Since 17, I have been on and off with nofap and recently fell into a 5-6 month period where i watched alot of porn. I had really bad anxiety and insomnia and the porn was helping me get through it i guess (in reality it was probably making me worse).

I went to the doctors and my anxiety/insomnia is a lot better now so I decided to start nofap again. The first night I couldn't sleep at all so i decided to masturbate but not use P. I tried again and the second night I did the same. I decided that I would stop porn and only masturbate and then when the time is right, stop masturbating too and begin nofap.

Last night I forgot to masturbate as I was really busy and I couldn't sleep at all, and also felt really anxious (reminded me of my insomnia/anxiety days). I ended up masturbating at 2AM just so I could get to sleep. I just don't know what to do because I really want to quit pmo but I really can't go back to the days when I was anxious and had insomnia, it was hell. I couldn't sleep for days and would be anxious about everything.

Does anyone have any advice for tackling this problem and maybe slowly weaning off pmo? Thanks for reading and any advice would be really appreciated, I really need to quit my bad habits.

    good morning

First I would like to clarify that English is not my main language, so excuse me if you see some grammatical errors or in my way of formulating sentences

I have also gone through anxiety, even until now I continue to deal with it little by little, I know well that feeling of irrational fear, that need to get out of there no matter what. Like you, I also tried to relieve anxiety with masturbation, and let me give you a couple of tips:

Masturbation in theory will alleviate your anxiety, because it really does, it calms and relaxes you, but inevitably anxiety always returns. Is the easy way to avoid anxiety, but not the way that will help you heal it and get rid of it, this should be your main objective, to cure yourself.

I do not recommend using masturbation as medicine for anxiety, no matter how much it calms you

    - analyze the possible cause of your anxiety , look for the trigger of your problem and try to avoid it as much as you can

-I recommend to meditate for about 20 minutes a day, personally it has helped me greatly to deal with anxiety, it is not complicated at all, it is 20 minutes of stillness and peace, clear your mind and place yourself in a place without distractions

    - I would advise you to talk about it with as many people as you can about your anxiety, it can be extremely difficult, I know, I have been through that, but the more help you have, the more chances you will have of being cured

-As for treating the pmo, try to install pornography blockers in all the electronic devices that frequent, they are applications that partially or totally restrict access to pornographic sites and eliminate the presence of suggestive ads and images

Also try to keep your mind clear, look for a hobby that occupies all your attention, for example sports, relationships with friends, movies, video games, music, art in general, work or any other activity that is to your liking.

if you want more advices, just let me know and i will be happy to sare more of them

    goodbye and good luck :)

Thankyou this is very helpful! I haven't meditated in a long time so thanks for reminding me to do it. I will try to distract myself and get through this day by day. Thanks again for your help :) Also, I can't believe English is your second language, it's really good!
