Sounds like an internet rumor. I don't know where it started. I doubt anyone can say where it started for certain.

This is called Skrillex. It started with a male DJ of the same name. A quick search of the internet seems to indicate that it went from him into celebrities such as "Cassie, Rihanna, Ke$ha, and Avril Lavigne" according to this. So I don't think in originated in porn. And it certainly is bizarre. On the other hand I think piercings are weird too - I'm an old fart.

 

This is one of the worst fads lately. I will never understand a girl wanting a dudecut.

 

Lol. You guys are showing your age.....or youth. Cyndi Lauper did this in the early 80's. She was decidedly not from porn.

One of my friends is a devout Catholic. She loves sporting these type of hairstyles.

 

That might be another reason to sport such looks. Weeding out the judgemental people

 

It looks like it's getting more common for men to try it too.

 

Honestly i never really paid much attention to their haircuts

 

I had the right side of my head shaved at 14 years old in 1989-90. It’s definitely from the 70’s punk to 80’s glam, not porn. Its never really gone away completely but as fashion recycles it’s does seem to be making a come back.
