Porn is a drug, I wouldn't ban drugs at all. I can handle drugs like weed, alcohol or pyschedelics but i can't handle PMO so I should stay away from it

People are free to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't harm others. If someone wants to watch porn, let them. Making something illegal doesn't make it go away. Banning porn will only increase the amount of innocent people in prison, increase the price of porn on the black market and prevent any porn addicts from getting any help. Seriously, child porn is illegal yet the dark web is full of it, the government can't do anything about it because they can't find it. Education is literally the only moral and sensible option when it comes to porn. I think the main problem is over the last 50 years we've separated love from sex, people just have sex for pleasure and I have no problem with that, but I strongly believe sex should be synonymous with love.

    I hate porn.

They should ban the production of all porn, not the watching of it.

The real evil are the people and companies that create it, those who watch it like us are just fooled on impulsive addictive disorders.

    Publishing/uploading then.
Whoever uploads it gets traced and fined or sentenced.

People would just resort to publishing on the deep web, where they can't be traced. If not that people would just sell physical copies on USBs, DVDs and tapes.

You can be traced on the deeb web.
TOR cannot keep you anonymous against the Feds or very clever computer wiz.
There is always a weakness in anonyminity.

Why do so many people here who like all of us here have or have had a porn addiction, not want porn to not exist and give up hope in porn being banned one day.

If you are serious about getting past this addiction you wouldn't even want it to exist at all.
Every day hundreds either get hooked on porn or realise they are hooked.

Wouldn't you want everyone's life to be free of the torment porn addiction causes if porn wasn't available to us?

Dude, the deep web is used for so many illegal activities. Terrorism, child porn, hitman hiring, weapon dealing and human trafficking all happens on there. Anyone who goes on the deep web for serious illegal activities know how to avoid being traced. It's not impossible, but it's not far off.

Yes I know this obvious knowledge.
The point is you can be traced.
Also the FBI etc actually host sites with illegal content, snare anyone who visits and instantly get their real identity (IP), regardless how secure they think their TOR is.

Other deepweb users also trace eachother, if you got a leak in the tunnel you are found.

Even if a ban means everyone turns to the dark web.
I know I wouldn't because that place is a mine field of evil.
I will happily accept a porn ban and then get on with my life and enjoy not having porn in it.

It's hard to think of any good reasons to keep it. I guess there is some educational value, to get a better idea what people look like naked, and what is going on behind closed doors. (Even though most of porn is fake acting..) That also might be useful for some people that can't get a partner for whatever reason. So they can see what sex and naked people look like so their not going fucking cray going out and raping someone.

I despise porn and wish it never existed.
I would never have got hooked and then felt dead inside after so long being hooked if it never was so accessible.

I can think of some reason why "they" would want to keep pornography.

    1. Population control. Like the beetles mating with brown beer bottles in Australia. It keeps people preoccupied fertilising an evolutionary dead end (computer monitor) rather then reproducing.
    2. Money. It makes a lot money to tax.
    4. Destruction of the family unit. Corrupts people's mind towards sex from something of love. Its also known to be cause of divorce.
    5. Satiates and subdues alpha males into betas. So less men walking around with high testosterone that are gonna resist control.

  16. I think it should be banned. Porn use not only affects those who are addicted to it but those around which will ultimately have a negative effect on the world at large and also people are human trafficked or forced into sexual slavery in order to make porn and yet you still wouldn't want to ban it? I don't understand.

Cigarettes should be banned. They have no positive qualities. They cause the deaths of large numbers of people from cancer and COPD. It is designed to be highly addictive and there are a huge number of people who started using it before it was known that smoking was bad for health. So you cannot say that it's the dumb people who knew they would be harming their health.

As someone else pointed out, it does harm other people.

You are contradicting yourself. Didn't you see the link above that people who watch porn have much higher rates of divorce? Obviously it is harming the spouse.
I don't know if you put cigarette smoking in that category, but it harms the family psychologically as the smoker's health deteriorates, affects the health of family through secondhand smoke exposure, and the health costs are borne by society. So it is a huge harm to others.

Theoretically I agree with banning porn and cigarette smoking, but do not know how feasible it is, and possibly it would have worse consequences to try to enforce a porn ban.

Ban unhealthy foods then, and alcohol and gambling. And go ahead and ban divorce since it's bad. We can't let the people harm themselves in any way!

No I wouldn't as it goes against our constitution. But I wish it was easier for people to impose blocks on themselves and on children.
