It seems many here prefer having neighbors who are always not around and mind there business its interesting. From the part of African where I come from, its different. Its not about the immediate nieghbour but the entire neighborhood. The community interact like a family, often times we can tell every member of the community by name and thier household, this is more so in communities where they all speak same language because often times the comunity is a product of a single family hundreds of years ago who have multiplied into extended families over the years. Though this gradually fading away. So the point is its absolutely impossible to be a solo neighbor here.

I've heard this about some parts of the Africa. A strong sense of community and people interact on a regular basis.

Here in the US, at least in my area, I don't trust anyone that lives around me except a couple neighbors I've interacted with. Everyone else can stay away from me and I'll be staying away from them.
