    Didn't happen. Not a chance.

Want to know the roots? No probably not. Lust isn't a good enough answer for this entire situation including us being on a site called NoFap.

So try Capitalism. Thank that for high speed Internet porn.

Anyways this isn't about why and how a thing called high speed Internet (what Internet isn't low attention span speeds these days?) came to be the most prolific hardcore drug delivery system on this muddled planet.

Just know our true nature does not need or even want porn let alone to Fap.

    Wonderful Era of humanity eh?

Capitalism has brought a lot. The great availability of basically EVERYTHING being available means that we must have personal responsibility. The porn is available for all who want it but the wise among us will simply cut it out, as hard as it may be to do so.

The horror of being a fapper is followed by repentance and the self chosen path to salvation. The path is NoFap and the reason that this forum exists is, of course... the same capitalism that put the porn there in the first place.

    Isn't life fascinating?

Spare us the worthless socialist propaganda. Porn is bad and it has nothing to do with a society's economic model. The west was capitalistic for hundreds of years and porn was never an issue. One could make a stronger case for atheism and loose morals contributing to the proliferation of porn before you could a society's economy.

Our brokenness is the answer. Lust is simply a drive that promises more than it can deliver to help us deal with our brokenness. Sex in the right context is great. But it's bot the sex alone that nurtures us. Rape is also sex. Sex in the context of a loving, nurturing, growing relationship (best found in the security and commitment of marriage) is awesome. But sex is only a part of that healthy relationship, an aspect of it.

Lust, like the OP means it, is the idea that sexual behavior, in and of itself, including even twisted forms of sexual behavior, will somehow touch our inner needs. It disappoints bec it fails to, every time, even though it always looks so promising at the beginning.

Capitalism isn't the problem here. High speed internet isn't the problem here. People's lust simply capitalizes upon new technologies, thinking that the latest advance will bring us that much closer to enabling our lust-driven (not love-driven) actions to meeting our deeper needs. But they won't, as we have all learned here. If it wasn't high speed internet it will be something else. VR and robots are next. We can try to closely approximate humans, or we can actually develop meaningful relationships with real humans... the choice is ours, and it's so simple.

But our brokeness still remains on some level, and only God can deal with that. The economy, politics, science, lust, sex, & relationships can only do so much. There is inner spul work that needs to be done.
