Your grandfather. Different world.

  1. I stuggle with this nofap stuff, but occasionally find things funny. Like messaging a bunch of (mainly) men about M.
But what about many decades ago? Before the 50s, people didn't even have a TV, and before the 20s maybe, they didn't even have radio, so would have to do something called reading. Or talking, and doing stuff.
Your grandad didn't have the same worries as you, although his life may well have been harder. He might even have stopped the fucking Nazis invading your country.
    So...put the D down.

  2. I don't think it's funny, it's disturbing. I don't know why people feel the need to be so graphic about sexual stuff. I tend to mainly use the word relapse for P&M. Someone referred to us all as w*****s in a group and I'm like WTF! I won't go anywhere near that group now. Don't why you had to use the d and w word in this thread anyway. This is a recovery site, not a porn site.

  3. Ah gotcha. Triggers. Will amend now. Apologies.

  4. i agree with you! since i watched this video about a month ago made me reflect on detaching more from internet and live more real life and put my phone down and engage in human interactions. it feels much better. i tried to see why i was more and more defocused and haven't been able to finish reading a book in years even after a full year reboot. internet basically increases depression and lack of focus on tasks

few nights ago i was mad with a friend that took stupid pictures together (to show his fb friends he had fun and get likes) and right after left. i was so pissed off. phones took a lot of enjoyment from real life. i truly miss the days when i was a kid and we didn't have phone and we would look at each other's faces, for real

  5. Yup. Imagine a time before the internet and smart phones. I actually lived there.
One time, my friend and I decided to ditch the TV, and spent a month doing positive stuff. It is all do-able, mate...

  6. It isn't that I'm triggered, it's just that I find it disturbing. I don't want to be reading posts where a guy is talk about his d**k all the time. I guess it a PAM but still WTF!

Simpler times! Part of my new philosophy is to live a little more like my grandfather. Do a few things the harder, more traditional way. So, I wash the car and chamois off by hand. Got rid of the electric lawnmower, and bought an old school mechanical push one. Beats going to the gym. I'm in for bashing Nazis too.

  8. Good man. 'Easy' is great, but also killing people slowly. 'Hey! Never do anything and move or think or try! Only do what you feel like..'

  9. PAM - Porn addict mentality.

I was saying the reason why people feel they have to be graphic is because they're still thinking like a porn addict. You can stop with the porn but the porn hasn't left you. But still I find it ridiclous that some people feel they need to be graphic.

  10. Really, thats your thinking?
Porn do leave you over time. You just would not notice it, because you would not be thinking about it.

  11. Hey don't forget that internet videos/gurus are absolutely fine, but don't get stuck on one person ever. Look at all the self-help people, plus the religions, plus your personal heroes, plus people you know....blah blah. Take your time and become YOU. Damn I'm drunk now. And DON'T DRINK.

This web site is for people who, among other things are having difficulties with addiction pornography, masturbation and sex.

While I agree that we do not want to trigger others, what is triggering is in the eyes of the beholder and changes over time and circumstances. For example years ago "darn" and "my goodness" were considered inappropriate in mixed company.

I have absolutely no idea what w****s refers to and so to me it is just a meaningless nonsensical term.

    For your consideration

  13. I like it man lol. Thinking like that does make you feel kind of silly doesn't it. It puts things into perspective.

  14. Ah I will click on Carlin. Wanking is British for masturbating. Colloquial.
    'Poontang'.
    .
Sorry man. I won't do it again

  15. I wouldn't beat yourself up. I can see where he's coming from, but everyone does it and its not like we're all virtuous saints here lol. We've all seen worse things than the 'd' word ;)

  16. Thanks. Exactly.

Hey, I been fasting for the last 24 hours ... will eat again tomorrow morning ... and I was on my 3rd beer when I posted this. (beer is liquid so it is ok. I make up my own fasting rules.) I certainly did not mean to offend or hurt anyone.

We are all brothers and sisters here,
