Youtube has porn on it (albeit considerably less and more vanilla than most porn) so I consider your involvement with Youtube questionable to reboot. I suppose if you just create videos and such, then only go onto Youtube to upload or read comments it'll be fine.

I disagree. I'm watching YouTube everyday and it's made things easier. I'm not talking about watching half naked women on YouTube. as my post says, I want to start my own channel. I have never seen porn in videogames

There is lots of p subs on YouTube and Video Games. I am an avid user of both and most popular youtubers use psubs as click bait. Most AAA games have lots nudity and psubs. At least most indie games don't

I know that some people are desperate in the way that they can't watch a female without relapsing. Well, that's not me. Im not getting erections from watching a guy playing a videogame with his friends

I'm not talking about guys playing games with his friends. I have a couple youtubers I watch almost daily. I'm talking assholes like PewDiePie and MathasGames who used pictures of half naked women to get people to watch his videos.

If you haven't seen this stuff then obviously you have YouTube safe search on or something because it is fucking everywhere. There is no reason to call people desperate here, I was just trying to give you a small bit of critism. There is a lot of stupid, triggering shit on YouTube and in video games.

Please, before you go judging people and making sweeping, generalized statements, realize that I said that I watch a lot of YouTubers and play games. I even have a ps4 too and have been working with some people to maybe make group for gamers on said platform. What my point was, don't say there isn't triggering stuff on YouTube and video games. When you get triggered one day on said platforms, you will understand. We were only here to help. By all means, good luck with your channel buddy!

    I have a channel too btw ;)

Yeah, youtube has become my biggest stumbling block because it requires less "deliberate" action than going to a porn site. I suppose it's good that stuff that would never turn my crank does now since I don't watch real porn anymore, but the Psubs on there have become the next challenge I'm fighting to overcome.
Anyway, good luck with your channel. I have also used youtube to help me abstain, watching videos on the myriad of other subjects I'm interested in as well as NoFap type videos. It's not all good or all bad, like pretty much every video site out there.

I really didn't mean to be judgemental or rude. I'm subscribing to pwiediepie and I haven't got any problems with rebooting with that. But we are all different. Leave your channels name here and I will subscribe :)

I cleared my history and some more stuff on my YouTube some time ago and it reset my recommendation. Now, I only subscribe to channels that actually interest me and I don't have any problems with click baits or any other triggers

  11. Avoiding YouTube because of potentially triggering content is like avoiding going outside because you might get hit by a car.

You will never avoid all triggers in your life, no matter how hard you try - so if your only strategy for staying clean from PMO is avoiding triggering content, you WILL relapse, guaranteed.

This is why you see so many people struggling to get past the first week, because you're just trying to hide from triggers. It doesn't work. You need to learn self control. You need to learn, if you see an arousing picture or video, to not go and jerk off because of it.

It's the same reason so many people struggle to quit smoking. They try to remove friends, places and habits that encourage them to smoke. It works for a while, but then someone lights up a cig around them, and bam they're back to smoking. For me instead, I learned to resist the urge to smoke. So I can be sitting in the same room as someone while they smoke half a pack, and I won't light one up myself. You need to change the core attitude you have to the bad habit, and learn to resist triggers, rather than just avoiding them.

With YouTube, it's also pretty easy to ensure you don't see much/any triggering content anyway if you know how to get YouTube to recommend the right kind of content to you. I never see anything remotely triggering on YouTube - because I never watch those kinds of videos, so YouTube never recommends me it.

If you've been using YouTube as a p-sub, and watching lots of arousing videos - then my advice is start a new channel and avoid watching any of those videos. YouTube recommends videos to you based on your viewing history, so if you've watched a lot of triggering content in the past, it WILL recommend more of those videos to you. So start a fresh channel and avoid those videos. Watch regular stuff instead, and YouTube will just recommend that stuff.

Anyway OP, good luck with the channel. I have a small growing channel with around 20,000 subscribers myself, so feel free to hit up my PM if you need any advice. We're in different genres since I don't make gaming videos, but I can give general advice on how to grow, etc.

  12. I started a YouTube channel somewhat recently. The one thing I would say, as I've experienced and was well prepared for, is to prepare yourself for a whole lot of negativity. Social media, in general, can be really toxic at times, but YouTube can be one of the worst platforms for it, in my opinion. No matter how good your channel is, be prepared for a lot of negativity and rude comments. If you're someone who can't read something negative without getting angry and responding, it's gonna be tough for you. But if you can let the dumb things roll off your back, and keep enjoying what you're doing and not take the negativity too seriously, you'll be fine! Good luck with your channel <3
