September 2017 is quite a perfect time for me to get into horror movies and I currently watched some of them lately. Of course, I have seen some horror films before and there is quite a lot of them I need to see before I die. Since rebooting myself over a year, I changed myself a few times and it's weird but that's how it goes. Anyway, here is a list of horror films I have seen and enjoyed/disliked: Alien - 5/5 Aliens - 5/5 Alien 3 - 1/5 Alien Resurrection - 3/5 Alien Covenant - 4/5 Dracula (1931) - 4.5/5 Dracula (1992) - 4/5 Friday the 13th remake/reboot - 1/5 Halloween - 4/5 Halloween (Rob Zombie's remake/reboot) - 1/5 Hellraiser - 3/5 IT (2017 remake) - 4.5/5 Jaws - 2.5/5 Nosferatu (1922) - 5/5 Paranormal Activity - 2.5/5 Resident Evil - 4/5 Resident Evil: Apocalypse - 3.5/5 Resident Evil: Extinction 4/5 Resident Evil: Afterlife 3/5 The Conjuring - 4/5 The Exorcist - 4/5 The Nightmare on the Elm Street - 4/5 The Nightmare on the Elm Street remake/reboot - 1/5 The Shining - 4/5 The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2006) - 1/5 The Thing (1982) - 4.5/5 The Wolfman (1941) 4.5/5 Again, there is a lot of horror movies I haven't seen like "Evil Dead", original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Frankenstein", "Carrie", "Annabelle" and many to name it. Recommend me some and I will try to find them when it's on Netflix and HBO Go and when Best Buy has them on shelves. Wishing you a good day!
I would absolutely recommend Insidious. The first one is my favorite horror movie. The second one is pretty good, the third one wasn't great. There's going to be a 4th soon, so we'll see how that goes. In my opinion, Annabelle was not a good movie at all. But the second one was, surprisingly, much better, to me. I haven't seen any of the Saw movies yet, but I've heard good things, at least about the first one. Another random one I found that I enjoyed was Oculus.
High Tension Inside Martyrs Salo (disturbing) Serbian Film ( disturbing) The Horde The Babadook It Follows The House that October Built
The Cabinet of Dr Caligari The Neon Demon The Silence of the Lambs Deathwatch The Last Man on Earth (Vincent Price one) Perfect Blue Kenneth Branagh's Mary Shelley's Frankenstein Pitch Black The Call of Cthulhu (2005) Zombieland Shaun of the Dead Nosferatu (Both Murnau and Herzog) Alright, I haven't seen the new It, but... u srs? The Shining is maybe among Kubrick's Top 3 dude.
I'm hearing good things about it so I've Got to go and see this. The shining is #1. Psycho needs to be on that list. Black swan and Baba dok. The ring and pans labarynth. Google psychological thrillers. I'm getting bored of cheap jump scares now.
And if you watch Jason or Freddy, do them both right and watch the old ass originals first. So you know what all the jokes are about. Then watch the newer ones... Any order. But always watch #1 in the series first. Especially with horror.
I thought you hated remakes, you even told me yourself not to watch remakes (specifically the new IT movie).
It's not really a "scary" movie, but if you're into psychological thrillers, there's a great movie called Before I Go to Sleep. I think it's still on Netflix, but I'm not sure.
Some gems you wouldn't naturally know of shutter island. the others. Sixth sense. Split. Tale of two sisters. Blair witch project.
If you liked split you'll love 'Identity' with John cusack in. I think of that as the one of the original personality disorder movies, well, apart from the grand daddy of them all 'psycho.' Oh yeah, 'se7en' should be on that list too, brilliant storyline.
I have Identity, and I do indeed love it Psychological thrillers are my fav, especially those about DID. That's definitely my favorite mental disorder... and I was a psych student, so it's not as weird as it sounds that I have a favorite mental disorder. Haha
In that case you got to watch black swan, if you haven't already. Ranks with some of my best loved horror movies of all time.
Sounds kinky but to be honest, fast forward that if it affects your reboot, the rest of the movie is gold. It handles psychosis pretty well. I think I'm going to go see 'IT' over the weekend. But by myself LOL.
Those are "whore movies" (sluts running from a murderer) You want a real horror movie take LSD and watch the original IT.
