What sadistic shows that run today.

  1. I have never watched a whole show of the Viking television series it's giving me nightmares thinking about it. What a terrible show what the hell is wrong with society.

From movies of kids killing each other to the scene I saw today in Vikings which was extremely disturbing where a Viking group raped and murdered a family.

That's all they play now a days when did movies like this become okay? It's one thing to show some killing scenes but these shows are way to grotesque for it to be legal.

Agreed! sometimes my folks will see something on TV and announce "that's shocking, back in our day you couldn't even imagine this". I'm in my 20s and watching the same stuff thinking "yeah this is pointless violence, I'd rather watch a blank screen than this shit"...

I don't know how old you are, but for me it's a real eye opener to see typical shows or even 'horror' movies from 15 or 25 years ago. So much more relaxed and down-to-earth, not to mention you can watch a scary movie without feeling disgusted.

I think TV & movies, much like porn, have become more extreme and bizarre as audiences grow dull to them.

There's plenty of great content, but it is sad to see the hordes of consumers for game of thrones and fifty shades of grey for example.

  3. Yeah Game of thrones is very bad but I don't think they even have a scene this bad as the one I saw on Vikings. I know people have to die sometimes that's warfare but I am highly against senseless killing and raping. It's even worse when a under age women is raped and innocents that want nothing to do with the war are the one's that usually suffer the full consequences. All you would have to do is look at the middle east right now this cycle just seems like it will always repeat itself. It's in our nature to want more and sometimes the easiest or only way to get more is by taking what other people have worked so hard to attain.

It's always the middle class and the poor that pays the price for a leaders ambition though which is being seen in all continents even today. The truth about humans is that we are not rational creatures but emotional creatures and that's why people can get inspired so easily to fight for a cause that won't in anyway benefit them or there loved one's.

  4. But these shows regulate violence like that and when something like that becomes regular people tend to do it more so I agree with you entirely. Stuff like that was regular because that's what people seen back then but we have the choice to change the ways of or ancestors for the better.

That's what pisses me off about these shoes is it normalizing this kind of behavior even though I hope one day we can improve from the savage ways of the past.

True much of what's being shown on TV is happening somewhere, but I don't think our ways are set in stone.

I see bad things happen like you say, but also great inspiring peaceful and purposeful things! I personally believe that mankind is capable of a much 'higher' level of being, I'm not religious nor do I claim to know better than those who are, but I do believe we are capable of more, not building more or taking more - but being more. That may not make complete sense but it's just my thoughts on the matter :)

That's all good haha! Yes I do hope future generations see the stuff on TV and think critically about it. I think the irony is when so many of these shows have gone over the top, it makes many people take a step back and reject it.

  8. I hope your right but I see too much hatred around and with hatred war is inevitable. But I do agree we can be so much more the potential is there but with media spitting out crap non stop to divide people I start to wonder if it will happen in my lifetime. dam this scene is so disturbing I kept me from sleeping though never watching that again. I'll stick to little house on the prairie or friends.

  9. Yeah I think it may have that effect as well. seeing how crazy and merciless are ancestors where makes me realize that I never wan't to be like that. Let's hope everyone thinks the way we do.

I found The Sopranos really shocking... though that didn't stop me watching it right to the end..

It was the way they casually murdered people just because they felt insulted or some other tiny thing.

It was great in many ways - but I'm not going to rewatch it.

I've had similar thoughts about a few movies, they were well done but there's one or two scenes that just aren't worth seeing again...

I think there's also something to the social aspect, I notice when I watch heaps of crime/horror movies, I'm more suspicious of strangers in general rather than being relaxed and seeing them as individuals.

So true - Even though I know it's just a movie, a part of me believes it and that crosses into real life... The mind doesn't like being 'tricked' all the time.

Great moons think alike! haha. Yeah I try to think of movies/tv/music like I'm on a diet. There's junk and then there's healthy options!

We're addicted to a dopamine chase. We crave for new and we crave for better. The money is where all of our fantasies are combined into one. Then we become to afraid to step into the real light of our world. All this doesn't bring us closer to anything. It brings us further away and we lose touch of who we are.

The key is to recognize, observer, assess, and look past it.
Now I'm knocking on Heaven's Door...

  18. I don't like gore and not a fan of violence, yet most shows and even movies today are about sex and violence. I remember when I was younger there wasn't really any of the crap that plays in today's age... Hell I can't really find any comedies now, and if I do they usually suck.

  19. I agree I don't watch much TV shows anymore, we have some sadistic people running Hollywood. The shows I watch know are usually a little older.

The new show I don't mind is Murdoch mysteries but in all honesty I am trying to cut down my TV time now.

  20. They have decent size budgets to make them look better but the messages these shows give is absolutely insane.
