I'm assuming this is all time. This is very hard, but I'll try. I'll separate singleplayer and multiplayer. Singleplayer: MGS4 (2008) or MGS3 (2004) - close call, leaning towards MGS4 Witcher 1 (2007) or Witcher 3 (2015) - close call, leaning towards Witcher 1 Dead Space (2008) - Holy shit this game was amazing Skyrim (2011) - I know, sorry Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007) - only Metroid game I've ever played, but so breathtaking LoZ - Twilight Princess (2006) or Ocarina of Time (1998) - close call, leaning towards Twilight Princess Amnesia: the Dark Descent (2010) The Forest (2018 official RD) - I only played singleplayer mode Metro 2033/Metro Last Light (2010/2013) - haven't played exodus yet Outlast (2013) - first one only Multiplayer: World of Warcraft (2004 - present) (fuck Blizzard tho) - so many hours, my whole childhood/adolescence. Favorite exp is probably Wrath. ARK: Survival Evolved (2017) - the most addicted I've ever been to a game, 1k hours over a single summer Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (2015) - most hours of any game on my Steam, 2200+. I hate this game now but I have to give it some credit. World of Tanks (2010 - present) - holy shit this game is such bullcrap. If I were to guess, I'd say I have maybe 3k-5k hours on it. Star Wars Battlefront I and II (Classic) - memories Planetside 2 Payday 2 (1k hours) TF2 (meh) Conclusion, 2007 and 2008 were the best years for games in my opinion. 2015 saw some fantastic releases as well, including MGSV which is not on this list. Basically, anything Kojima-related or Zelda-related or Witcher-related would dominate the whole singleplayer list.
1. A Link to the Past (SNES) 2. Twilight Princess (GCN) 3. Ghosts n' Goblins (NES) 4. Links Awakening (GB) 5. Paper Mario 1000 year door (GCN) 6. Super Mario Bros 2 (NES) 7. Super Ghouls n Ghosts (SNES) 8. Pokemon Soul Silver (DS) 9. Adventure of Link (NES) 10. Super Mario Land (GB)
Any year that doesn't have stupid loot boxes or games that are utterly broken at launch, I think should be considered the best years for games. I see you played a lot older games, have you ever played EarthBound?
1. Super Mario World (SNES) 2. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (360) 3. Resident Evil 4 (PS2) 4. Counter Strike 1.6 (PC) 5. Unreal Tournament (PC) 6. Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved (360) 7. Ninja Gaiden Black (XBX) 8. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 (GCN) 9. 007 Goldeneye (N64) 10. Street Fighter II: Turbo (SNES)
Yes it did, but from what I understand trying to get the original SNES EarthBound game is rather expensive to get. I seen the cheapest for it so far is about $240. You have to forgive my ignorance with certain games, but what is Counter Strike 1.6? Is that the original Counter Strike? Also what is Geometry Wars?
It's always a tough one, I wouldn't be able to choose ten games but I'd have to say my favourites are: 1. Shenmue 2. Pokemon Silver 3. Zelda Breath of the Wild 4. Hollow Knight 5. Fable 2
There’s so many I love across different consoles and such, I’ll try to list ones that come to mind. lol Half-Life 1 Half-Life 2 MGS4 Detroit: Become Human Borderlands 1 Killzone 2 Mercenaries 1 Infamous Second Son Minecraft LEGO: LoTR Human Fall Flat CoD: Black Ops 1 Farcry 4 Fallout 3 Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield S.W.A.T 4 Sniper Elite V2 Zombie Army Trilogy Assassin’s Creed 2 Farming Simulator Titanfall 2 Batman: Arkham Knight Watch Dogs 1 Battlefield 3 Danganronpa Trilogy CoD: Infinite Warfare Elder Scrolls: Oblivion I have so many I give up.
Wow that is a lot of games, sadly the only two games that I have played are Lego LOTR and Half-Life. Have you ever played Ori and the Blind Forest?
While I’m a console gamer and didn’t have access to a good PC before, my childhood consisted of a lot of PS2 games and Half-life 1 on my dad's computer. I played that for years with mods and expansions until HL2 came out, it was one of the best times I’ve ever had in gaming.
I like snooker because it is more chess-like than pool. It adds an extra layer to the skill required beyond potting balls. My favourite active game is badminton: doubles. Again, I find the added strategies of doubles play makes it more fun.
I'm going to give some explanations too. I guess my absolute favourites are: Dark souls (Haven't finished any other soulbornes yet, but at least ds2 and ds3 don't feel quite as great. I look forward to getting to play Bloodborne.) Amnesia The Dark Descent (Although the main game alone isn't quite that special, the custom stories add in so much content that Amnesia is sure to remain as my favourite horror game propably forever. Shoutout to The Great Work.) Honorable mentions: Dark souls 2 (The only other soulsborne I have played enough to give an opinion.) The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker (My first tloz. Absolutely beautiful and perfect with all its flaws.) The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess (One of my childhood favourites. I don't get why it is so hated.) World of Warcraft (I don't even know why, but I keep coming back.) Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth (Had they had time to polish this masterpiece, it could have challenged Amnesia. I love it and I hate it.) Okay, I can't give explanations to every masterpiece I've played. Some random shoutouts: Luigi's mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Bros Wii, Super Paper Mario, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 (haven't played others yet), The Darkest Dungeon
My three fav games of all time are Zelda Wind Waker, Skyrim, and The Witcher 3, and that's a definite list. After this I must admit I've played insane amounts of OoT, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Fallout 4 and Stardew Valley Oh and I have 700h in BoTW so I guess it counts haha. I just really damn love Zelda
I'm a retired player so these are mostly pretty old. First some well known ones: GTA San Andreas (2005) - Hey man, it's OG Loc homie OG Loc! Starcraft (1998) - Raynor here. Sounds fun. This should be good. Skyrim (2011) - I used to be an adventurer like you. Then I took an arrow to the knee... L.A. Noire (2011) - press X to doubt Age of Empires (1997) - you know you fucked up when you see their Centurion while you're still in the Stone Age. Heroes of Might and Magic II (1996) - I remember spending several whole summer days with two other friends playing on the same computer. Amnesia (2010) - played it around 2013 and it was the last game I really enjoyed Now some less well-known: Gothic (2001) - the first RPG and the most immersive game I've ever played Syberia (2002), Braid (2008), Machinarium (2009) - super lovely adventures Black Mirror (2003) - a not so lovely adventure Mafia (2002) - great story and atmosphere Max Payne II (2003) - cool dark narrative and cartoons Antichamber (2013) - will leave you very confused but in a good way Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2003) - lightsabers!
Cuphead Dark souls (all of them) Captain Claw (one of the best that hardly anyone knows of sadly) Devil may cry (3 and 4) Tom Clancy (splinter cell series) Metal gear solid ( work of art ) Kunio kun no nekketsu soccer ( probably the most fun game I've ever played. It was a NES game. ) Legend of Zelda ( NES ) Castlevania ( 1 to 4 ) Ninja Gaiden ( NES ) TMNT (3 and 4 NES, smash up PS2) God hand (Best PS2 game) NFS most wanted (both) Bioshock (1 and infinite) Max Payne God of war (1 to 4) Limbo Inside Baba is you Shovel knight Hollow knight Salt and sanctuary Street fighter (II arcade, alpha series) Fatal fury king of fighters (all) Metal slug (love it) Double dragon (all)
