Hi everyone my name is Mike I am 21 years old, I started watching pron when I was 15 years old, I was not aware whether it was wrong or right, I used to have some friends who were elder than me and I got pushed into that direction or was misguided, but as the time passed and i learned more about this I started becoming were of the right information and got to know that this thing has demerits in a large way, but till that time I got addicted and I was knowing this is not good for me but was unable to get out of it as it was too difficult and become a part of my daily routine, so I started searching researching on this topic because I wanted to talk about it but there was no one with whom I can share my problems, my story and than I found nofap community where people with same problem join and help each other to get out of it and here I am posting my first post and I want to get out of this addiction, I am planning my first goal to be kept is 7 days and as I start improving I'll be increasing the days maybe 30 days.

I'm 59 and I started in my 20s. (I was a late bloomer) That means my addiction ran 30 years. I'm impressed yours has only been about 6 years and you've discovered it. To get out of it really does take some support. I get mine from this forum. I won't go into the long history of my porn addiction. I've been in a relationship with my partner and she discovered my porn addiction long before I was ready to accept it. I continued fapping until a month and a half ago. I started hearing about porn addiction and I started researching the term. After researching and reading, I determined I was addicted. I decided I would eliminate this addiction. So here's what I did: first I checked for porn on my laptop and my phone. Then I deleted any and all porn bookmarks from my phone and laptop. Then I set a goal of 7 days (I started small) I put a porn blocker on my laptop and downloaded and installed a porn blocker app for my phone. For me, knowing they are there, I felt less willing to go to those sites. After the first 7 days were up, I took a few hours and reassessed and decide to go another 14 days. I'm up to an about 43 days. Have I had urges? I did and most of the time, I just sat down away from the computer and phone, observed the urges, and then watch them float away. The other thing I do is come here to nofap, read messages and try to support and offer advice. If I do this long enough the urge begins to dissipate. I also read books, feed and walk my dog, wash dishes, listen to music from my phone and the other day, I downloaded the CALM app and it's great! By the way, there are two other apps I like for this purpose: one is called Fap Track which is a counter. It's free. The other one I like is called Fortify. It helps create a whole system to help you break away from PMO. Please check these out. They are in the Google Play Store.
