If I can quit porn, is it possible to go back to being straight?

Man, I thought I'm gay too. But then I try to watch some straight p. Hm, I think I'm bi. But I don't care. I must survive first.

 

For reference and as an addition to my previous post, if anyone here suffering from this problem is getting strong erections when plagued with gay thoughts and weak erections when thinking about girls, again this is most likely due to the porn - this has been happening to me and I had been viewing straight porn regularly for 4 years and gay porn for only one, so my brain is still seeing gay stuff as the new, novelty material to get excited about in its search for new stimulation, but as I go for longer without porn my brain should eventually return to becoming more excited by straight porn again as its sensitivity to vanilla material returns.

 

I just want to come back a bit from my own post(s) a few pages back in this topic.

It could well be that gayness or bisexuality is triggered by P, it may have been inside of you all along, or held back because of beliefs or the simple fact your never considered to bring it on screen or even to reality. Then there's the novelty, the crave for newness, to fill that emptyness in our lives. I think there are just so many factors that could trigger a change in sexual 'preference'.

But I did not consider one cause as much yet; the absence of a woman in (y)our life. Possibly the most obvious, but it's also easily overlooked. Imagine being in prison. Often you see scenes in series and movies where men have S with other men? They could be cliches, I don't know, I've never been in prison. Though not always voluntarily, but one of your few options to release of your urges. I'm not saying they are all gay, but it seems that your brain and body needs that release, and simply put, if no women, next best option are men.

I notice this with myself lately, kinda fantasizing about a male friend, I notice I really really, need to be physical with someone, almost desperately. I need that touch, and someone, anyone, to love me. I'm even allowing myself to go to S workers under the pretence that any of what happens there is 'real'.

This 'cause' may not directly apply to every situation but I feel it could certainly contribute to it or is somehow intertwined. I do agree that P is quite influential in this case, and without a doubt f---s up your mind, blurring the lines and your vision.

I would get a girlfriend, if I only knew how to get my mental state back up in normal working condition (trauma caused depression, anxieties and misbeliefs leading to negativity, jealousy, hate pessimism, etc..).

When you watch porn daily or frequently, your dopamine receptor closes itself due to the flooding of dopamine, which is too much for your receptor to take, this happens repeatedly and soon you'll find out that you need more shock value content to keep up the high that you used to feel before none of your receptor closes themselves. It is normal that you seek content more shocking than usual, give your brain a rest and it will heal itself and you'll become just as happy as you used to be

 

I can't relate to the gay stuff.. but the more hardcore stuff like slapping and facepumping and anything else over excessive which I now realise is painful to the other person is now a huge turn off for me and actually can make me really upset to the point I've yelled at my screen smh.. but not to loud because I was still in the midst of fappin or watever.. but the crazy part is that they have to act like they like but in reality they only like that there gonna get paid after.. I feel like most sexual acts are just because ppl are horny.. if your horny enough you'll do anything but ppl want to make it seem like it's something difficult.. ppl can be traumatized by an overly horny person though that's for sure and that's terrible or even traumatized by someone who doesn't truly understand hornyness.. and excuse me everyone for my lack of discretion with using the word so loosely but if it looks like a duck.... then what is a goose really?

I am in the same boat as you are as far as the gay thoughts are concerned, except that I imagine them from "being a sissy" perspective. Just like in your case, I started MOing to softcore and then gradually to hardcore porn when I was 13. Similar to what you said, the gay/sissy thoughts which occured to me would go away and normal heterosexual thoughts would come after going on NoFap for a few days, but sometimes the gay/sissy thoughts would come back even stronger making me relapse. Honestly, excess porn viewing over the years does tend to have a negative effect on your brain.

 

Porn comes from the greek word porneus which can be used for any type of sexual immorality.

Its a sin and you can be free from it, truly free from it only one way. Jesus Christ paid the price for you even in your worst state He loved you so much He bled and died on a cross for you, and He was raised from the dead and is still alive today and forever. He loves you and wants to see you made whole, all He asks is that you repent (turn away from) from your sin which IS killing you, all sin earns us death, and simply believe in what Christ did for you.

The bible says that God is faithful and just to forgice us our sins when we just confess them.. God loves you but hates your sin like a parent hates the cancer thats killing their kid. We have free will and you can either run to God, and the life, the abundant and eternal life He came to bring all who would turn to Him and believe, or we can run from Him and from our accountabity to Him, and from the fact that He sees us regardless of whether we hide from Him, youre either running to or from God, theres no inbetween.

He has his arms open to you, waiting for you to return home to Him. The bible says He stands at the door knocking, if anyone opens He will come in and eat with them. He wants a relationship with you. He died to save you. True freedom is in Christ friend nowhere else.
