And when you went trolling did you get a dopamine rush tantamount to that you receive when watching porn?
Yes, and in a way, I still am. More along the sarcastic lines of Ken M (he's an inspiration) rather than the crazy false news trolls. It definitely does give a laugh, though I don't do extremes.
It can become quite addictive in its own way huh I used to post some pretty terrible shit in the comments section of youtube vids just to get a reaction
It sure can be. I haven't been much vulgar when I've done it, so I haven't had much to feel regret about. What I found interesting is how triggering politics can be
I used to do it on MMO games. Never in a confrontational way, though. I would pretend like I was some clueless guy who was “determined to win all of the quests and defeat all opponents”, among other silly and cheesy yet bold statements, when it was clear to everyone that I never stood a chance. It would mostly make people laugh, but occasionally it would draw out a douchebag who wanted to make fun of me. This type of stuff makes me laugh hysterically for some reason. There was definitely a dopamine rush. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly like the way I felt with porn, but the similarity was there. I will say that when I was trolling on these games regularly, I never even thought of porn, sometimes for weeks at a time. I guess I liked the rush of the attention. It kind of proves how just getting a dopamine rush in any way was more important in my case.
When I was a teenager I thought it was fun to get a rise out of people. Every now and then I'll be silly but I don't purposely try to make people angry anymore.
Haha I did this same thing on Halo and Cod. Acting like I had no idea what I was doing yet at the same time taking it super seriously. That kind of trolling is harmless.
lol nice. I think we all inadvertently troll sometimes when we're really passionate about topics. I don't think trolling necessarily has to be deliberate, but just fueled by raging emotions.
High quality trolling and 4-D memetic warfare is what helped get Trump elected. Now obviously that fact deeply divides opinion as to whether trolls serve any useful purpose in society! Personally speaking, rather than them being "assholes" - as you so charmingly put it - the good trolls are busy fighting to save western civilization. Good trolling is an art form. And just like any art form it can also be done badly. All power to the good trolls!
No Hilary was just that awful of an alternative. Democrats really should have tried harder. They could have picked just about anyone else and won.
Sorry - you don't understand what happened in the 2016 election. Biden, a kiddie-fiddler caught numerous times on film and "Pocahontas" Warren would also have been trolled hard into defeat. They stood no chance. As would any other establishment candidate. The only wild card was mad Bernie. Maybe he could have beaten Trump. But the establishment hate him even more than they hate Trump. Any Trump supporter has a lot to thank the internet trolls for. And maybe one day many of the current Trump haters will get over it and come to realize that too.
I literally laugh at myself because of how funny I think I am when I troll. I either do it on Xbox live or on Instagram.
All jokes aside, I think with me as with most trolls it came from a place of deep self-loathing. I hated myself and I needed to vent my frustrations. I would never be able to inflict physical pain so went for the psychological assault, hiding behind my computer like a true coward. Trust me when I say these people are leading severely miserable and unhappy lives. Remember - don't feed the troll!
I did it once back in the day, but I realised that I was being a pos and eventually grew up. I don't like trolling in general but in today's age it's bloody annoying and has gotten more extreme and stupid.
I think there is a misconception here, assholes cant troll, assholes can only fart and give birth to dark stinky warriors.
