Ok so I just realized today that porn is literally everywhere I can't seem to escape it. Ok so today I was at the mall and I was looking at some shirts and I saw this one shirt this scared me. It was of a naked girl but her back was turned so you couldn't see her breast but you could tell she was naked. I quickly looked away and some people looked at me like I was crazy but I didn't care. So I kept walking and I left the store and was walking around the mall. Then I pass by this woman's clothes store and there was a picture of a model wearing a dress that showed way too much cleavage like seriously kids were walking by that store. So I panicked again and speed walked away from that store. Not only is porn on the outside world but also on YouTube let me explain. I was watching YouTube video and I was scrolling through video in my recommended and I saw this one thumbnail that kind of pissed me off. It was of a naked girl with her shirt off and she was covering her boobs but I was like are u serious right now. But you probably get what I'm talking about there is porn everywhere or at least some type of thing related to porn it's out there. It's like we can't escape it and it makes me angry because me as a porn addict who is trying to avoid porn and by me seeing these things that I have explained to you who's reading this u could understand why I'm angry.

Yup, it's out there. And it's not just like the examples you've given. Go to the mall, the gym, the park down the street, etc., and you'll also see real live attractive women wearing revealing clothes that could really turn you on.

Triggers. We're sensitized to them and they're out there and there's nothing we can do about it. Getting angry about it isn't going to make it go away. Learning to deal with them will really help though and as we get healthier and also learn to deal with it it gets better.

The way I see it it's all on us to get past this stuff. I got nailed a few days ago at the gym .. young woman in skimpy, tight outfit .. I was messed up for a few hours. After I got myself back on track I made a plan for myself not to focus on her the next time I encounter that. I can't change my environment, but I can change how I react to it. And I'm not going to stop working out, there are just too many benefits I get from that. A good plan really helps with this, and so far it's working out OK :)

    Hang in there Tom!

Yes they’re everywhere. But after a good streak is going, they don’t really get me as much. For me, seeing real women in shorts or something like that doesn’t really make me want to use porn anymore. It’s the billboards or magazines or things I see online or in movies that trigger me more. Especially, hot models doing something suggestive. That’s what really gets me. But I have some solutions. I think you have to turn your head away and not let it in. Build that habit. It’s hard at first but it works. Like when I walk by a magazine stand, I do turn my head away so I don’t see the covers of any magazines I shouldn’t. You have to kind of tune it out as if it was something repulsive. I still admire or look at real women. It doesn’t trigger me as much. I do try not to stare, but sometimes I have trouble with that. The best thing I can recommend is get a good streak going, turn your head away, find some kind of counter action to do instead. Maybe some affirmation, because so much of this is mental. Best of luck

I’m not currently on a long streak. Well it depends how you look at it. I’m at 3 weeks. I think it will get easier each day. But turn your head away. Try that. Try to do a contrary action. Like let’s say you walk by someone or something that triggers you, what would you do instead?

  7. Yeah man it is everywhere. We can't escape it but we can ignore it. If it's on social media block it. If you see in real life direct attention to something else.

Outside in the street, there is trash, there is filth, and there is mud. When we were kids, we had to learn to not play in it. Now, as adults, we avoid getting dirty. We walk around the mud puddles, and we only pick up trash to drop it in a receptacle.
We have to treat porn in a similar way, avoid it, trash it, and speak out if it is where it could hurt children.

  9. This reminds me of a couple of months back when i was waiting for a train at the station. There was a printed advert on the wall for a clothing brand, the image was a woman with her legs spread, a hand bag between her legs and she had her tongue suggestively placed on an ice cream, let's just say she didn't look like she was about to go out for coffee with her mother. We live in a bizzarre world now where you can't say the word F##k before 9pm on television, yet you could be outside and your 9 year old kid could be staring at this clothing advert instead. Sex has always been used as a way to entice buyers, but these days it's thrust into your face, so much of it is very cleverly done so as to only hint at the innuendo, but to question it is to be seen as a boring prude, there was a time in my life when I would have seen that advert and though 'whhoooar yeah, cop a load of that' now my adolescent brain has shut up and the adult inside me questions how this kind of repeated sexually charged content affects people.

How did you do 500 days? I’ve never gone past 5 1/2 months. Any tips?

  11. I've learned to hate porn like it's my worst enemy, I will not give it air to breathe or no longer suffer it's promises of fulfillment because It only left me empty in mind and spirit. I've read about people who have survived sexual abuse, porn stars who have lead terrible and sad lives all for the sake of entertaining the man behind the screen. Done a lot of soul searching and decided that I will let empathy grow and i've learned how to respect women. It's not easy and nobody gets 'cured' from addiction, you just learn to manage it and be grateful for each sober day you have, slowly new habbits and activities fall into place. I've also done some psychotherapy, counseling amongst other things like researching and reading about the subject.

  12. Yes, triggers are everywhere unfortunately the cold truth is that sex and nudity sell well in this world. Porn industry makes huge amounts of money by people who watch porn and especially porn addicts. Similar things work on other fields of business. Whether is it fashion, food, drinks, you name it - These are supposed to trigger emotions in our brain so we buy it, and sex does trigger our emotions. It all spins about money.
But that's not supposed to worry you, in fact you have every right to be angry. You did a good thing, you looked away. And keep doing so every time you come up to something like that, look away and think of something else. These pictures and triggers aren't here to do something beneficial to you, these are just tools for corporations to sell their products to people. As you look away from those triggers, just remember what i said and don't let those bastards take advantage of your weakness.
Keep up with your progress and stay strong ! Cheers.
