Taking the first step

I am a 21 year old undergrad student living solo at my university. I have been addicted to porn and masturbation since I was 15. At 15 it was about once a day, and has since become nearly 4-5 times a day. I never thought of it as a problem as in school I would stay active and have good friends. As of the last few years I have noticed the significance it has been taking on how I used my time, money, and interaction with the opposite sex as well as loved ones. I have only 1 close friend who knows the reality I have been facing, but even he doesn't quite know the depth of it so I wanted to come here to share. The addiction went from just hand masturbation and porn to finding other ways I could stimulate myself. I began by wasting hundreds of dollars on sex toys like fleshlights and male masturbators. That wasn't enough and I started purchasing dildos and inflatable butt plugs which again piled onto the hundreds of dollars I was wasting. I was looking for any way possible to stimulate myself. This continued for nearly the last 3 years and has cost me dearly. I have been having constant dreams of absolutely ridiculous sexual acts to both others and myself. I have started to engage in a relationship with this girl and it appears to have been going great thus far which has been an absolute miracle for me. I wanted to take it a step further so that I can make this relationship, my relationship with my friends and family, my academic time, my finance, and set them all right. I understand it is not going to be easy, as I have experienced in the past without holding myself accountable, but I am willing to make a first step. It began yesterday by me throwing out all of my sex toys, and anything else in my living space that reminded me of acts I had done in this space. I am now here after having finally looked up ways to help fix this problem, and I hope to join this journey with the rest of you. Starting tomorrow I plan on creating myself a log/journal in the proper age group category to help track my progress. My account is just an alias and is not my real name.
