No way for it, there will be always porn sites that offer free porn. It's big business.

  2. Making porn illegal won't solve the problem, it will even increase it. If there is a demand there will be people who produce it. I think a better idea is to start educating the youth about the dangers or pornography and masturbation.

  3. Just think about it. Lets say Ted Cruz would tour around america, visiting schools, telling teenagers about his experience with porn and educating them that way. It would have a much greater impact than banning porn.

  4. The UK are enforcing laws which require just that, a pay wall behind all porn sites so in order to access it you will need a debit or credit card to prove you are over 18. The problem though still is most of it is hosted off shore where the UK laws don't necessarily apply. So it will be at the expense of ISP's to filter this out which would be a mamoth task. In theory it's a great idea to protect minors from the damage of viewing porn at a young age, but in practice, just think about the vast amount of free porn sites out there, and then the curiosity and tech ability of youngsters these days. All it would take to crumble that wall would be some class mate saying 'oi have you seen this website, look no age check' I think it will be effective for very young children though, who might type in the word 'boobs' in google and instead of getting a list of hardcore porn will get a list of medical sites or breast cancer awareness websites etc. But that is more of a search engine thing than specifically web site targeted approach. We will have to wait and see how this initiative develops over the next 5 years or so.

  5. That will never happen, you will get angry mums and dads picketing outside the school saying things like 'don't let perverts educate our kids' 'get the scum off campus' such is the mentality of the mob masses who react before they think. He would be a good person to educate people but i think whilst a school may let an ex gang member in to talk to kids about crime and violence, when it comes to matters around sex and immorality people just want to bury their head in the sand. There's a lot of places in the world including here in the UK where people would just think 'lets just not talk about it and hope it goes away on it's own' people are fearful of confronting sexual behavioural problems in society, i wonder if it is because it may reveal things about themselves which they are ashamed of?

I believe ISPs should be more strict on preventing children from viewing the material, or in other words, have an ISP blacklist the more popular porn sites unless requested by an 18+ person. However, with the use of VPNs and anonymous browsers combined with the huge amounts of porn websites out there, it won't be effective in the long run.

But no, distribution shouldn't be banned so long as the person consents to it as an adult.

Look at cigarette smoking. Ad campaigns against cigarettes were really effective. porn should be the same way; advertised against rather than banned.

Don't make Porn illegal, just make it much harder for minors to get it. For example, requiring ID verification. And raise the minimum age to watch porn from 18 to 25.

No but there should be a disclaimer when you want to purchase or watch it. like tobacco warning its dangerous for you're longs can give you cancer

at porn it could be a disclaimer like : can give you erectile disfunction and can cause adiction.

A sense of shame applies to porn. Being caught smoking a cigarette is nothing like being caught viewing porn.

And so a public campaign against it [one of 'education'] would be counter-productive in two ways. First, because of the public shame toward it, people do not want to openly talk about it. Second, if it was to be openly talked about, the sense of shame would erode. Yet this is a powerful social and moral instinct we have, and one we should preserve. This sense of shame is closely connected to our humanity.

The middle road of censorship is the right one. And even though this is technically difficult, governments still should do all they can to protect minors from exposure to porn.

  13. Have you read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley? What you just described is a big theme. It's seems like it will come true doesn't it! But we can resist the downward trend can't we?

Perhaps these companies should be accountable for distribution of porn to minors.
If one of us cave a nudie mag to a minor we could go to jail.

Hard to raise the age when they can't stop a 10 year old from viewing

Woah lets not go that far, lets face it, some guys are just never getting laid no matter what they do.

  18. I wonder who will be the first person to try and sue a big porn company because they didn't have any deterrents or obstacles to prevent minors from viewing it? whoever tried that would be incredibly brave and would need a huge bank balance. Something like that would create a massive ripple effect. Can you imagine '16 year old sues pornhub for allowing him access to their website'

Well as a 40 year old could you sue for tumblr for ruining your life starting at a young age? As a 14 year old kid who goes on to look at some Harry Potter thread and gets wrapped up in something deeper with no filters.
