Been using porn since I was a teenager. Magazines and VHS back then. That's over 30 years.
Porn has decreased my desire to be with my wife, I objectify young women, I masterbate at work, I constantly feel ashamed, PMO makes me irritable and inpatient with people.
I want to stop doing doing something that is harmful to my marriage and risks my employment.
I am starting my reboot today.

Welcome Gary. You would profit from reading many of the journals in the over 40 section. Many of us with the same story supporting and helping. Here are some things working for me.

  3. Hi @Gary1969
Glad you are here. And very welcome to join us in our journey to a healthy, fulfilling life without any self harming habits.

It's a safe place here. We all are in the same boat, so there is no single space for judgement here.
Maybe it's a good idea to keep a journal. Sharing your struggles, thoughts and feelings may help you to understand the underlying issues.

Keep coming back and get the most effort out of nofap!
You don't need to do it alone!

I wish you lots of luck!

    Welcome to the Nofap-community.
It's never too late to have a change in life and get rid of addiction.
The NO PM or NO PMO journey is not easy but worth the effort.
    The community will support you.

Day 3. I was actually away this weekend when I started my reboot. This was risky because it is so easy to just stay in my room and PMO. I'm proud to say I'm still on track. My mind definitely wants to derail this. It's crazy often P pops into my head during the day. I have to quickly refocus on to healthier thoughts - but the brain doesn't give up too easily.

Short post, but from what I'm reading the journal is an important tool.
