I know I'm only 2 days into the challenge, but the urge is too much.. Please respond quickly. Is just MO( masturbating orgasm) okay without porn or it's still horrible? I don't really NEED to watch porn. Thanks

Check out my posts. I think MO is not a problem if one is trying to break a porn habit.

I know it must seem like it, but the urge is not too much. You don't need to masturbate or watch porn. Don't compromise, you'll just feel like crap. Stay strong, battle the urge and build some resilience and self respect.

It better for you not to do Masturbate and orgasm! It just slow your progress of reboot down! Don't edge also! You just have learn to welcome and accept the urges! Here is the meditative technique I found it helpful to dealing with the urges: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp_D8GInoHM&list=UU6gyVlwXwtqkn4KLjx3nDHg

Freshman666 - I have been having a hard time too. I started trying not to fap about a month ago and my longest streaks were 3-4 days. Not too impressive but it's because I'm in the early stages.

When I quit smoking marijuana something similar happened. I tried to quit several times and each time I tried to quit and failed I learned some things about myself and I was able to do better the next time. Eventually I quit completely and I have been clean for a year and a half now.

One of the hard parts is that when you start NoFap, you don't feel as horny and you don't feel your brain telling you that you need to get your fix of dopamine from looking at porn and masturbating. Then, a few days later, you get really bad urges and it feels unbearable. Your brain will try to convince you that the urges are too strong and this is an impossible task and you will just feel better if you PMO but it's the addiction tricking you. You have to learn to EXPECT these urges. Then, when they happen, you need to acknowledge them and find something else to focus on. It sometimes helps to remember for just a moment why you are trying to quit but don't get caught up in it because the addiction will try to negotiate with you so you need to just go do something else.

If you start thinking about it too much, fantasizing, edging, etc., you the urges will get stronger until you reset but if you go the other way, the urges will subside. They will come back again some other time and you will have to do the same thing.

The more you have the urges and resist them, the stronger your willpower will become and your control over them and in some sense it will be easier for you to deal with them and make them go away. That is what we want!

    Good luck!

But I think it is - I know, just my opinion, but then, what do you fap to? blank space? I think not. MO needs a trigger, and to get it you end up needing P again.

    You
I began MO before porn. Therefore porn is not necessary for me to get aroused. I'm learning that there are a lot of guys out there who began M because of P.
That doesn't change my opinion, in fact it strengthens it. Guys need to learn how to understand sexual response. You can practice this alone. Learning how to arouse yourself gently could be valuable for young guys and maybe older guys who have ED, DE and PE.
    Please keep an open mind.
I think though, on this site, that we can agree that there is something much more problematic with porn. I think that it would be much better for a guy to fall back on M rather than the full Monty of PMO. You may just learn something about your own sexuality. Let me add, at all costs, avoid imagining images from porn when you M, come up with some original fantasys.
