    It's all true.

As I read through the materials (Porn Addiction & Rebooting info), The Rebooting guide, the forums posts and journals, I keep repeating to myself the same words; "It's all true".

I was thinking that I was going to write this long post explaining my problem, only then for others to look at me like "man thats fucked up, you are a weirdo" but turns out we are all on the same boat, and we can all trace our issues to one common denominator: PMO!

I am 40 years old, married with children. I started masturbating to pornography around 9-10 years old. When I tried to have intercourse for the first time at 20, couldn't get it up. have struggled with that since. 20 years! It. has ruined me, ruined my marriage.

That led to a lifetime of bad decisions, that just made matters worse. Having to take ED meds just to be able to get by, and mediocrely at that. Has affected my marriage. We are still together. I found ED medication that works, but that is just a symptom.

By stopping pornography forever, and abstaining from masturbation until I feel I have recovered from the years of damage, I hope that I can regain all those things that I have lost.

Remember, when you read all the materials and stories, the wires confessions about how their husbands addiction has hurt them and their relationships; Its All True.

So glad I found NoFap. I don't ever want to leave this space.

    Very respectfully,

    -Big Al

thank you Hermit_Ninja, congrats on 37 days. I know it might be placebo, but I am already noticing positive changes in my behavior and mood. Its like someone shoved a sparkly unicorn up my ass. I been up and moving getting stuff accomplished and loving everyone in the household... That tells me I am on the right path.

I am a little confused on how to do my journal.

Do I just create a thread on the appropriate age group and just keep all my journaling posts on that same thread?

Also I have noticed that some member have a direct link to their journal under their avatar. Does that happen automatically? Or is it something I have to do.

    Thank you,

  5. 1. Yes, that's all you have to do.

    2. I'm not entirely sure, maybe they post a link in their "signature". To change your signature click on your username (Big Al O)))) beside "Inbox" in the black banner under the NoFap logo above, assuming you're logged in. You'll see "Signature" near the top of the list of options. Sorry if I explained that badly.

Yay me, thanks man. I almost didn't, day seven was full of urges. But I focused on the reasons that I am doing NoFap and exercised until I was hurting and out of breath and that helped me get through the bad part of the day. I am going to make my journal now, and talk about my first 7 days of No PM(o), ending the seven days with being able to penetrate my wife for the first time in a long time.

Thank you all for the great support and encouragement. I hope my experiences can help others like I feel I been helped.

You CAN do it my friend, You ARE DOING IT. Focus on why you started NoFap to being with. And then take steps to avoid those triggers and environments that lead to PMO. Yesterday I was home alone for hours, and that is what normally compelled me to masturbate compulsively (even when I dont want to). So I avoided that shit. Keep it going. if you find yourself slipping, sent me. PM and I'll give you my phone number, you can call me and we will talk about random shit until you feel safe.

I am so happy right now on day 8 that I can barely contain myself. I want you to feel that too...

    You ARE Doing it!

  8. Hey @Big Al O))) ,

I'm just a normal ordinary member. No moderator super powers and no special insite. I share my ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) of what works for me.

Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much.

What worked for me was "working" it. It took hard work for me to complete a hard reboot (No pmo) for 120 days, then move into a Sex Positive mode.

First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals.

Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals.

Finally, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational".

That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community.

    PS:

For me NoFap is 1/2 program & 1/2 fellowship.

Click on these people and post a "hello" on their profiles.

I've found that the bricks that hold this community together are cemented with the support of the members of the fellowship.

    @2525

    @Beamer

Look at with whom they exchange messages and you will find more profiles.

So, if you would have found more profiles yourself, why suggest these particular ones as a start? Those relationships started with just saying hello. So, my ESH is that saying hello has kept the fellowship alive for myself.

Looking forward to your success and in seeing you say hello on these profiles.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will do that, as I believe that the fellowship part is critical for our success.

    Cheers...
