It seems to be nothing but drama every time I log on. Funny thing is, it's not even pornographic for me. I don't have friends who post nude selfies or anything like that. I figured I've been on it for almost 10 years that maybe I should leave
There's another thread about quitting social media. I think you should check it out. https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/quitting-social-media.156172/
I gave it up for Lent last year and never went back. I keep messenger in case some needs to get ahold of me. Up to you, but you likely won’t miss much.
Same as @DarkwingDuck , I keep messenger to contact family members and a few close friends (I live abroad). If you don't have a need to use FB or other social media for your job, and you find that you're not doing anything productive on them - I would delete them. Plus, everyone is on social media nowadays - and it's very cool to say that you're not
I didn't realise you could leave Facebook and still use Messenger. Interesting, I'm going to give this one some thought. I havn't used Facebook for a long while, maybe 2-3 years and have only held onto it because it was just a contact list for me.
Facebook can really be the pits.. Amazing how many people you see having massive fallings out, usually over the most asinine shit, they'd have never had in real life? One solution's to just not have these people on your friends list...block 'em.
Get rid of it, it's a massive waste of time. You'll feel much better once it's gone. I've actually gotten rid of all social media and it's been amazingly peaceful.
Much of social media are for those who disguise their depressed lives as being absolutely fantastic, just to make some other depressed person even more depressed. I rarely use it, other than to communicate in messenger also, as well as photo updates every now and then.
My favourites are those people who write unpaid articles for websites/blogs so list that as their occupation.. When you know for a fact they earn their daily bread as a kitchen porter... But like you says, depressed guy sees that and thinks, ''... And here's me, assiatant manager at PC World.... My life sucks!'
To clarify the left statement. My facebook account is still open. I just never use it. I use the credentials solely for messenger.
Especially now that 95% of my newsfeed is about either politics or the Florida shooter. I'm just about fed up lol
It’s a pretty simple test. Just leave and see if your life improves. If it does then decide if you want to stay gone or comeback.
I've done that twice and then Facebook spams my email with things I missed and practically begging me to come back.
Then just leave for good. Adios Facebook. Another idea is to setup a difffernt email account for your Facebook so then you don’t get those spam email on your primary email account. I mean it’s not hard to creat a Gmail account. It takes 1 minute.
Just unsubscribe to those emails. There are days that I don't go on FB but never receive such emails. I mainly go on it for my university groups.
