Hi guys, i'm curious about one thing, i know that i'm recovering so i'll avoid anything with anything related to porn, but of all those articles and posts that i've been reading lately i didn't find one about books (you can include 50 shades on this list) or erotic stories (all without images, only text).

Is there any article about any kind of addiction to it? Or anyone have any experience to share about it?

I write a daily journal and lately I have been somewhat obsessed with girls I’ve seen walking around (hot weather equals small cloths) and I’ve also had a bunch of super vivid sex dreams.

During my daily journal I’ll write about these situations, and at times I find myself giving extra detail and my stomach gets butterflies because I’m fantasizing about my writing lol.

So I don’t have much knowledge with literotica and it wasn’t my “drug” of choice, but what I will say is self honesty is one of the main keys to successful recovery.

If we aren’t being 100% honest (or as close to that as possible) with ourselves, then we can eventually find ourselves on the path to relapse.

So, if it’s a problem for me, it might not be a problem for you as long as you are honest about it.

    Good luck! Hang in there!

Thanks for the reply, but actually my curiosity is about if someone can develop an addiction to it. I'm not planning on reading this kind of material but i keep thinking if erotic stories and related material can develop an addiction like porn can.

  6. The chemicals [dopamine] produced by your brain while you watch porn and reading erotic stories are the same and you're also tempted to M as well. There's no difference, be careful.

Funny thing, After responding yesterday I went to an SAA meeting and a story in the back of the Green Book talked about someone who almost exclusively read literotica for 20+ years as their porn addiction outlet. So yup I guess it’s a thing.
