Hi. I'm Bella and I'm new here. Like five minutes new. I am a P and M addict. And I want to stop. I get depressed when I get indulged and it sucks. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one in the world who does it. I just want to get better and feel good about myself again.

I have been through so many quit porn and masturbation apps which worked for a little while. So I'm here asking, does this really work?

Your not the only one. I have been a P and M addict for some time. And I have gone through many downs because of it. Like you, I am here to try NoFap. Hope NoFap works for both. Wish the best for you.

  3. I'm a newbie too Bella, and from what i can tell, at the very least we won't be able to feel alone. Not only am i reading constantly about people like me, I'm getting perspective of people worse off then me. And a week in this community has already been more then welcoming. The grind is ultimately in your court, but we are behind you. Best wishes, we can

NoFap works if it's part of a bigger plan for recovery. NoFap provides valuable tools that when used correctly help improve your chances of recovery and stay clean. Often we need to learn why we are turning to PMO in the first place. It's not about sex, but often about using the PMO process to sooth underlying problems. When we identify triggers and learn to cope with our feelings in healthier ways then we can start to experience real relief. Starting a journal on this forum can help you do that. Finding an Accountability Partner can help you stay motivated to stay on the right path. Reading success stories can show you what really works. I wish you success on your journey.

Hey bella Also new here. And I'm also hoping this work. I have to keep trying because what giving up is ? I don't even want to think about it. I keep telling my self that some day this will be over But I really want that day to be here. I have quit drugs and alcohol. And I am clean for over four years now. Never thought that masturbating was going to be the strongest addiction ever. It's so in my mind And I can't get rid of my sexual organ. And that makes it different from all other addictions I guess. Well. Like I say. I want this to work.. I do need help

  6. Hi. Welcome to forum!

Does nofap work? No. Nofap is a tool. It does not work unless you do. No apps will solve this until you take control of your life. They do help though.

Make sure you create a personal journal thread in Reboot Logs section and blog there on a regular basis. As well as just generally be active participant in various forum discussions. I recommend this to everybody new here because it's the major thing that helped me when I was first starting. Just lurking on forums, reading and learning is great. But it usually is so much more powerful to engage. It helps to keep us motivated and accountable when we are active part of community. And keeps this in front of our minds so we don't forget about importance of it and slip away in our old habits. Sharing is also therapeutic. This is a major reason why AA meetings work so good. But that was developed before internet era. These days we can get most of the same benefits online through communities like this. So don't underestimate the power of active participation.

I would also like to suggest you to look into mindfulness meditation. It has helped me personally tremendously to learn how to deal with urges and triggers. It takes a while to get good at it and notice results, so you need to be consistent with it, but once you do it's very powerful. It has been used by sages for thousands of years to deal with various issues of the mind. And in recent decades the science is also catching up to what ancient sages have know for centuries. Meditation these days are widely used as very effective tool by psychologists for treating addiction and by neurologists for supporting recovery of the brain. It is a great exercise for the brain the same way as jogging is great exercise for the body. Check out this Ted talk, it gives a good idea of what's it about when it comes to philosophy. As far as practical side of it there is this awesome smartphone app called Headspace for guided meditations to get you started.

Wish you lot's of strength and success in your reboot journey!

The opposite of addiction isn’t sobriety, the opposite of addiction is connection and here you’ll find great connections that’ll aid you in your journey to recovery for example having an AP or posting threads these things assist you in your journey because they provide healthy and needed connections

  8. Simple answer : yes ,it does work. Its not easy at all but is worth all the effort.
Being free of this addiction will remove the feeling of guilt and depression.
    Good luck.
