The other night, I was lying awake, restlessness and horny. I did a bunch of push-ups, exhausted myself but was still horny. So I dug through my desk drawer and found my old Nintendo DS. Then I realized, old handheld game consoles can be a great and fun way to distract yourself from your urges. Best of all, it's safe, since there's no internet browser! My DS is a 100% wholesome entertainment device and I'm looking forward to playing on it more. I know video games and screens aren't the best way to get tired, but either way, they are a good way to get away from your urges since they're fun and offline!

That being said, what DS/GBA games would you recommend?
Some games I've enjoyed on the past are New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart, Phoenix Wright, Kirby Canvas Curse and Advance Wars.

Also, it's a cheap hobby! These games are steals at a used game store.

Personally, I like the Zelda games. Phantom Hourglass is a good one.

I am a big Zelda fan! I've never played it on a handheld though. If I see Phantom Hourglass in a store, I'll pick it up!

New super Mario brothers is awesome! If you wanted to really get distracted get one of the final fantasy rpgs!

I came here to say canvas curse! I loved that game!

Phantom Hourglass was also a good one, along with Super Mario 64 DS.
    Other games I had:

    Pokemon Diamond (fun)
    Mario Kart DS (super fun)
    Brain Age (good, had sudoku)
Burnout Legends (best handheld racing game I've played)
Wario Ware: Touched (really cool game)
Nintendogs (actually pretty awesome, I had the Dalmatian one)
    New Super Mario Bros. (decent)

One thing, I used to have the Opera Nintendo DS Browser for the original DS!! I remember looking at porn on that thing when I was probably like 11 years old.. Damn...

    Well, anyways,
    For Advance games, I'd recommend:

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (still have this sitting next to me)
Zelda: A Link to the Past (also sitting next to me)
Sonic Advance 3 (lots of fun with cool levels and character teams)
Sonic Battle (great game idea with sweet customizations and storyline)
Metroid: Zero Mission (just like Super Metroid!)
Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland (great handheld Kirby game)
Any Pokemon Game (only played leaf green, but I've heard Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald are also top notch)

I love video games!! (especially older Nintendo ones, if you couldn't tell)

@giggleshmack Excellent idea! Absolutely love my Nintendo handheld collection, which includes an original DS, two DS Lite and a DSi. I've also got a Gameboy Micro for true retro pocket gaming (even though the DS and DS Lite can both play GBA carts). My collection is then further enhanced with the original consoles: NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube and Wii. All of them excellent and no internet!

You've already listed some excellent games (Kirby, Console Wars). I'll grab a photo of my cartridge collection to make some more recommendations!
