Greetings!

Hi all! I am 41 years old, male, addicted to masturbation since, I don't know, ever, even when I was very young (2-3 years) I already started masturbating on my own, my parentes never made much of a fuss of it and allowed it, just explained to me that this is a private act and should not do it in front of other people, which is something I can do. I have a normal life: married, two young kids, full-time work, I can control addiction in the sense that it doesn't affect my familiar, social or work life, but I can't stop it, I can hardly go one week without looking at porn and masturbating. Sexual life with young kids is also seriously affected, I can hardly have sex with my wife, so "hard mode" will be my natural option.
I would like to ask: are there Christian members here, of any denomination? I converted to Catholicism some years ago, but my faith is shaken for many reasons: abuse scandals among priests and monks is one, but another is that I never found any help or advise from priests when I confess my masturbation (which is a mortal sin for Christians), they just give me absolution but have never taught anything that could really help me overcome it, and this is quite disappointing. So then I found this non-religious page with some very useful advises which I plan to read thoroughly and apply in my own life. If any Christian member here can give me more advises more related to religion (like a specific prayer or devotion), I would be very glad. Thanks all!
