NoFap community this is the last post I'm going to make in a long time. I can't seem to get a solid grip on NoFap so after I post this I'm going to smash my computer and take away all porn temptations completely. I just reset my NoFap streak counter for whatever reason since I'm not using nofap.com anymore because I won't have a computer. I will use from time to time computers at the public library but of course no way in he'll going to look up porn there thus taking away all temptations. Peace everyone. Let's do this.
That's definitely a drastic measure, but sometimes those are called for. Only you can decide if this calls for it or not. I will say though that it sounds as if you may be under the assumption that smashing your computer will eliminate all temptation, and I must say that I HIGHLY doubt that this will be the case. With no other option, I used computers at work to view porn, or as close to porn as I could find with the company firewall. I took on GREAT risk by looking at porn subs online using work computers because it was worth the risk to me as I had no intentions of fighting the addiction at that point. So I just hope that you're not relying on life to never present any temptations simply because you destroyed your computer.
I also started to look at porn at my old job. I quit the job because I was afraid I would not stop and continue doing it. Quitting was a drastic measure, but it was either that or risk embarrassment and shame if caught. If it works for you then good luck.
Take a deep breath, friend. Computers are pretty expensive, and the parts they're made of are often built by underpaid people in impoverished parts of the world. I hope you're just exaggerating, because that seems like a waste of money for sure. Besides, there's a bigger problem than just wasting money: Smashing your computer isn't going to get rid of your addiction. You will still have urges to watch porn after smashing it. If you don't address your addiction in a healthier, more sustainable manner, your inner addict will find another way to watch porn. Think about someone who is a severe alcoholic. If the alcoholic pours all of his booze down the drain one night, it will prevent him from drinking for a while. However, if he hasn't addressed the addiction properly, he'll just be at the liquor store the next day replenishing his stock of liquor. If recovering from pornography addiction was as simple as getting rid of your computer, I don't think this forum would exist. There's no quick way out of your addiction. It takes time, patience, and a lot of self respect.
I happen to think that this is not a bad plan. You literally sometimes get people threatening to take their own lives on here so threatening to smash a computer is no big deal. If you tried the sheer will power method and it is not working then go ahead. Get that hammer and beat the hell out of your computer. Office space style.
Despair makes you do drastic things: I, myself back when I had dial-up used to cut the phone cords, and then just find another around my house somewhere, and then cut it again. Then I cut the cord to my keyboard, bought more; ;then damaged the keyboard, and bought another $$. Nothing has really helped me; and I, too have thought about shutting down my computer, but I need it to look for work; and besides: then I would still have my Kindle, and after that my phone.
