    Hi people. I'll keep this short, because I'm pretty sure my story is similar to most other people's...

    I found this site a couple of months ago. I thought about joining then, but I didn't get around to it. That changed tonight.

    I jerked off to porn about 45 minutes ago. This was the last time. I've said that before, but this time is different. This time there's no going back to it.

    I know I can do it, but I can't do it alone. I need you guys to keep me honest. That's why I'm here. I don't know any of you yet, but all the same I'm going to make a promise to all of you, as well as to myself - no more porn. I've done. For good.

    Thanks guys. Looking forward to talking to some of you.

    Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your newfound commitment to giving up this addiction. You are able to do it. You have the power. I will say, that if you fail once or twice more, or even more than that, just make a determination to start again. A lot of us fail especially the beginning, but if you can just say from this point on I'm going to try again, eventually one of your attempts will stick. I am proud of you for making a commitment to say this was your last time, but even if it is not, pick yourself right back up and move on. At some point, you will achieve success with enough attempts, and enough attempt to dedicate yourself to recovery. Read the forms. Start a journal. And just keep going. This is a process, and you can do it. You are welcome here. Welcome to the forum.

    Thanks buddy, I appreciate the welcome and the support. I'm determined I'm not going to fail this time. I've stopped before, for extended periods. Last year I went porn-free for about eight months, and at one point some years ago I managed to stay off it for about 18 months. So I know I can do it. If I can live without it for 18 months, I don't really need it. Last time I gave in to temptation. This time I'm determined, really determined, that I'm not going to give in again.

    It feels good seeing that counter change from 0 days to 1 day. 1 day isn't very long but I feel like I've started racking up the counter...every day added is an achievement.

    I guess I should start a proper journal...
