Why do I feel amazing mentally the day after a PMO binge?

    This is something I have noticed. Every time I relapse and go in to a PMO binge for a day, the following day I feel really good mentally. I don't feel happy with my self that I relapsed and binged. But the following day after a PMO binge I usually feel more calm, relaxed, concentration is better, less or no anxiety, less or no depression. But then after a few days I start to feel terrible mentally again?

    This is what seems to happen to me?

    Hi skaterdrew, I can confirm that, it is something happening to me too sometimes. If you're really craving porn in a way you get angry and nervous about not gettting it, you're calming down after getting your dopamine fix from porn. Your body now feels satisfied because it got what it craved, and when you're shooting yourself up with a big amount of dopamine e.g. by binging, the satisfaction can even hold on to the next day. However, even the biggest dopamine dose will go down after a while and then the fall just gets harder.

    Imagine that you haven't eaten something for one day so you visit an all-you-can eat and stuff yourself up until you're about to explode. The day after, you're still so fed up that you don't want to have a breakfast and have no hunger. However, some time later, you will get even hungrier than you normally are.

    I noticed that some time ago and now I can't even enjoy that relaxing moment after PMO because I know that the bad feelings will come back. I am on day 14 and I feel like hell

    Yeah, I notice that too, and that is why I have not been trying very much to abstain for the past year.

    There might be other ways to get the same feeling rather than a PMO binge. Everybody's brain is different. I feel better after cardio exercise usually. I also use CBD and ashwagandha regularly. ... I'm not holding myself up as an example to follow, because I am not having much success with the PMO addiction. Hopefully you can find a solution.
