Does anyone leave nofap hornier than before they logged on in the first place? I find Reading some of the more ‘graphic’ posts strangely arousing. Should I be concerned?
You’re not alone. It happens to me all the time...especially this particular section of the forums. Be careful. The brain will do anything to get its fix.
Yeah, you should be concerned. Avoid the bothersome sections and make liberal use of PANIC BUTTON. You'll be alright.
If you get horny, just remember that 20 year old female posting about her situation is really just a fat, hairy, 60 something year old man trying to bait you into their foolery.
It’s happened to me before too. You should’ be too concerned. When I come on here, I get a lot of support and encouragement from reading posts. Once I find myself just reading for fun then I know I’ve spent too much time on here and I move on to something else.
I once relapsed writing about a girl in my reboot journal. It's a real thing. It's good coming here for reference, for instance, today I spent all day here... not healthy at all. But I will continue doing this until I can manage some days. At least 10.
Yes, so true! Our brain knows where to get its dopamine. You close down one source, it will go to another one, that you haven't identified yet. When I started NoFap, in the first weeks, my caffeine consumption increased, I suddenly had the urge to play video games from my childhood (civilization). And I went on NoFap and reading description of peoples' problems is a base so I can imagine strange things myself. To me, cutting down porn sites and masturbation was easier than I thought, it made me more horny in the real world. So the brain knows that dopamine can be found in real life sex as well. That is a good thing. But the biggest challenge is to actually MASTER the brain. To be stronger than it, even in your thoughts. To focus on yourself instead of a porn fantasy. 1. I think it is still way better to use NoFap for that than Porn and Masturbation 2. It tells you that Porn is just a tool. The problem is deeper. Congratulations, you took off one layer and got closer to the core issue.
I only found this happened a few times, usually when reading threads while bored with no real direction. Last month I've gone a few days or even a week without visiting here, have to say it's good to break up the usual habits (and get offline). NoFap is a powerful tool to find information, comradery and support. But it is IMO not a good thing to directly replace the PMO habit.
