  1. Hello all,

I am a 28 yo straight male. I've allowed porn to ruin my life, no ifs ands or buts about it. I have been looking at porn and masturbating since I was about 10 or 11. It really picked up in college though where I started viewing and masturbating probably 2-3 times a day and frequency has only gotten worse over time. I have strange weight gain, my man boobs get puffy when I pmo, i have consistent headaches, and I have trouble forming any kind of relationship (friend or otherwise). Based on what I've been taught, I'm at a place where no one thing is going to help me. It has to be a system. Therapy, accountability in person, white-knuckling, only go so far. Those things have to be combined with this and all worked together at the same time. I welcome your responses and encouragement. Not sure if I'll see them right away but I really just needed to get this out there.

P.S. if anyone has experience with the man boob thing I welcome responses. I have searched far and wide on the internet and can't find anything to back up what I'm seeing. But I can't argue with what I am experiencing in person. It's very embarrassing.

Welcome brother, I'm not a doctor but I believe nofap will help boost testosterone and may help. I hope that my being chaste may aid in my health too.

Maybe other men have had positive health effects from staying away from PMO.

Welcome, and good luck on your nofap journey!

As far as strategies to keep you from relapsing, I recommend wearing briefs instead of boxers if you don't already - much better at keeping urges in check. I also recommend making sure you don't have lots of downtime where you're bored, find things to occupy your time - read a book, exercise, learn a language, listen to music, anything to keep you focused and productive.

As far as your weight gain problem, frequency of fapping has nothing to do with hormone levels. If you stop PMO, there's not going to be a sudden increase in testosterone levels. If it concerns you that much, I'd see a doctor, but I wouldn't really worry about it - everyone has different levels of hormones, you're probably fine. The best thing for you to do is probably starting a regular exercise regimen, and getting on a better diet - eat less, and eat more of good things: vegetables, non-red meat, complex carbs, etc.

If you want an accountability partner, or just someone to talk to, feel free to message me! I'm always open to talk!
