What percent of males are addicted to porn? Or what percent of males are porn users?

In the UK, US, Europe ext, what percent of males are actually addicted to porn? Or what percent of males are at least porn users.

Remember when I say porn I mean all artificial sexual stimulation. So this could be pornographic videos, images, social media images, videos, youtube videos, google images. I am talking about what percent of males are addicted to using any of these for sexual arousal, or are simply just a user of them for sexual arousal.

I'm not sure what percent of men would be addicted to this. But I for sure think that the percentage of users of any of these things for sexual arousal must be through the roof.

Because of this I think what puzzles me is how are much more men today not suffering from sexual dysfunction issues like PIED ext?

Anyway what do you guys think?

To be honest, I'm not sure if it's really a high percentage. I think we are still a minority.

    Why would I say that?

Because in my entire circle of male friends (age ~30) there is not even one person who said (after I explicitly asked them) if they are or were addicted to porn. They might be lying of course, but most of them are living in stable relationships/marriages. I admitted my porn addiction to many (close) male friends and none ever said they experienced something similar. So that made me wonder if this addiction is really that common or actually still rather rare.

Yeah I'm somewhat similar. I have friends who are married, have kids ext. I also have friends in stable relationships, and then other friends who have a lot of one night stands. I obviously know a lot of other people who are in relationships also.

I'm not sure if this is an indication to me that many people don't use porn. But it is somewhat of an indication to me that many people are not suffering with sexual dysfunctions, as they're in stable relationships.

Like I said what puzzles me is how the majority of men, particularly younger men, so guys that grew up on high speed internet, it puzzles me the majority of men like this are not suffering wit some sort of sexual dysfunction, because of the what the internet and technology is like these days, and because I know what my behaviour has been like on it over the last decade.

But the impression I get is it is a minority that are suffering with porn addiction and sexual dysfunctions caused by heavy porn use.

In my opinion most men, especially young men will use porn or artificial sexual stimulation to some extent. So even if a guy uses it once a month, he still uses it. I think it's going to be rare to find much guys that don't use any porn or artificial sexual stimulation at all ever.

But maybe that's just it, maybe most men have used it but not abused it, and only a minority have abused it.

I'm really not sure. But it does appear that young men today suffering with sexual dysfunction issues are in a minority.

    Online Porn Statistics
Many studies have been conducted on online pornography use. These have revealed some interesting facts about porn use:

    • 25% of search engine requests are related to sex
    • 35% of downloads from the internet are pornographic
    • 40 million Americans say they regularly visit porn sites
    • 70% of men aged 18 to 24 visit a porn site at least once per month
    • The largest consumer group of online porn is men between the ages of 35 and 49
    • One-third of all internet porn users are women
    • Sunday is the most popular day of the week for viewing porn
    • Thanksgiving is the most popular day of the year for viewing porn

What puzzles me is how much more men are not suffering with sexual dysfunctions. I'd go as far to say that with the way the internet and technology is today that I would think more men would suffer with a sexual dysfunction than not suffer with a sexual dysfunction.

But what appears to be the case is the guys suffering with a sexual dysfunction because of porn use seem to be in a minority.

If much more men were suffering with sexual dysfunctions like ed than men that were not suffering from them then I think it would be highly likely this would be reported much more in the news ext. Also how much more would you hear about it from people? How much more unhappy problem relationships would there be?

So yeah it doesn't appear like much men overall are suffering from these issues.

The men could be just looking for the novelty but not acting out physically. Much of porn is grotesque, abusive, totally unsexy; anyone with a significant intellect that can look objectively at things can avoid being carried away. We have just as much in the way of violent video content out there as the lascivious stuff; many don't act on either.

    My personal impression was/is:

99% of young males started watching porn at a young age, but only a handful got stuck with it (= got addicted). The majority eventually quickly moved on to real sex and real relationships at age 16-21. That was the case in my circle. I quickly instead became a heavy addict since my youth, but somehow the others moved on. Smartphones hardly existed yet (porn only on computers), so it might be different in younger generations now.

I just know that it felt even more isolating to watch everybody at school/university/work seemingly successfully live without porn. And I also think that the vast majority of men still ocassionally watch porn but somehow are not affected by it.

  9. That depends entirely on what you define as addiction, depending on the definition it can be from less than 1% to over 90%

Typically people are labeled addicts when activity in question disrupts their ability to do normal daily tasks and long term planing.
For example when people begin to miss work because of addiction or spend money they need for rent on satisfying addiction.

I would estimate that actual addicts are a tiny minority. Fraction of a percent

One easy solution to a screen addiction, limit it to the library. My overactive, inquisitive mind wants to spend time online on chess and blogging sites, to what benefit? I've been thinking of pulling the plug on my internet service and limiting it to the library.
