This is an excellent step forward. When I quit porn, I deleted over 800Gb of porn, and I don't regret it.

I know that material will always be online, and this challenge lasts for 90 days. If, at the end I don't like the benefits it brings, I can always go online and look for the deleted porn, or even better ones. Thinking this way takes the pressure off me to never watch porn ever again in my life. It has helped me tremendously and slowly I am changing my mind about it. I have lived almost 2 months without it and my life became so much better because of it.

Check also the link in my signature called "Those who fail to prepare are preparing for failure". There you will see what other preparatory steps you need to make for this journey.

Offtopic @InfinityEye: why do you have 888 days as a target. You know, it usually takes 90 days for a reboot.

I deleted a few terabytes of p and I feel glad I did it although sometimes I do think about all the scenes I have lost but ya know what it's not the be all and end all I don't want to watch p anymore and let it consume my life so I don't want it consuming my hard drive either :)

I don't think you should care if you can or cannot get more porn online. I believe the main reason you deleted your collection is because porn just isn't real, and it was messing your life. Real life sex is very different from what we got in porn. Watching fantasies will not help us in any way.

    Good decision, congrats.

Personaly, i've put all my porn (20go) in a zip on Dropbox and deleted them from my laptop, so if one day I want to get them back, it will back me a while and hopefully that will let me calm myself and resist!

    Hi Anon,

I guess it's cause I'm still not 100% I'll succeed to stop... I'm quite confident about my challenge of 30 days and I'm sure I can even do 90 days but I think that someday I might go back into all this...

My current state of mind is this : give a chance to this challenge and stop your studip MOP habits, then if I feel the benefits I'm sure I'll keep going into that way and I'll naturally delete that backup.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely want porn out of my life and trashing my porn sent a message to the addict in me. I'm aiming for the 90 day reboot. What's your opinion on MO without porn during reboot? Is it just as bad?

    Hi Nofxp,

I guess we all have diferent answers to your question, it just depends of your personnal objectives but one thing is sure : if you keep watching porn, you really have high chances to relapse in MO!

I'm gonna repeat one interesting point I've seen on this forum : draw a balance with the + and - that you get from watching porn, then do the same with MO and see if you want to stop both or not.

Concerning my personal situation, i consider that watching with or without porn is the same, so I decided to stop everything (MOP)

    Good luck

Hi NOFXP well I can't speak for anyone else but I haven't MO since starting nofap but I imagine that if I were to I would probably be visualising porn in my mind and therefore it would be completely against the point in me trying to do this.
Even just having a O through intercouse made the cravings to view porn intense and I ended up relapsing. Everyone is different though and I have very little willpower :p good luck mate.

  15. MO-ing can cause severe chaser effects that will surely push you back to watching porn, because masturbating without porn is not that much fun. The chances of a relapse are even higher in the first part of the reboot. I consider the first part the first month.
Also you will not get full benefits if you MO (you still lose energy and motivation, and there's the danger of death grip too and I already mentioned the chaser plus there is fantasizing) so it cannot be advised.
I advise everyone to go through a full 90 day reboot first, and they can decide what to do with masturbation later. With any luck I should be able to talk from experience soon.

Oh and to say something relevant to the topic: I deleted every porn movie from my computer. I hadn't had a stash, I was circulating different movies. 2 weeks into nofap I also deleted every sex picture I had on my PC, all softcore material, but if I do this, I might as well do it fully. No point in arousing myself if I can't MO, right?

I feel like everyone knows what porn is the best and where to get it if we need it rather that deleting it is like destroying a possession that you had. You are basically collecting something. Try throwing away your super nintendo and everyone will gasp. Honestly, I haven't downloaded porn since the days of Kazaa but imagining deleting a library of movies thats crazy. Don't kid yourself, just do it. good luck

an interesting thing that has probably been brought up on this site before, with regards to quitting porn but not masturbation... when you are watching porn, and you end up masturbating, once you come, do you go back to watching hours of porn?? usually not. its like the whole reason we were watching porn was to masturbate. so i would definitely recommend quitting any form of masturbation if you are trying to quite a porn addiction.

Well done - congratalations. There's a story about an aged holy man who was asked what it was like getting older and losing sexual desire. He said it was like being unchained from a maniac. Well, we are not relinquishing sex - we want to make it better - and dumping your porn collection is I think a much better candidate for the analogy. Now you don't have all that stuff preying on your mind wanting to drag you back. It's a big step to getting free. Well done!!!
