Naked & Afraid

I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but lately I've been into this show called "Naked and Afraid". If you haven't seen it, it's basically a show that takes who people, puts them into the wilderness for 3 weeks, and you're able to witness the psychology of their struggle. They have to hunt their own food, build their own shelter, and not die. Or they can leave whenever they want. The goal, however, is to survive all 21 days.

I've seen individuals on this show who, despite the immense difficulties, have retained a strong will and persevered. I've also seen guys and girls who act like little pussies and tap out anywhere from 2-7 days after the journey.

When I watch this show, I can't help but see two versions of myself. The strong person reflects who I am when I don't PMO, and the weak person reflects who I am when I am a helpless, binging little bitch.

It's amazing how many excuses we can make to enable our addictive behaviors. We create our own environment. Whatever the physical world might be on the outside, it's really up to us to determine where we fit in all of it.

I was studying for medical boards and getting adjusted to a new life, and I relied heavily on the numbing effects of porn and masturbation. But now that that's over, I am reflecting on what it did - or didn't - do for me. I came back on this forum, read a few bitchy posts by some of you, and here's what I want to say:

Stop being such a bitch.

It's fucking obnoxious. You have everything you could possibly have in your life. You have food, water, friends, a bed, air conditioning, a car, a job, education, health - and you're bitching about this?? Get your fucking shit together. Stop making excuses. Stop being such a bitch.
