    Hello everyone!

This nasty habit have been with me since puberty! I tried to stop countless time, eventually I gave up and even stop feeling guilty.

It's been quite taxing on my personal life, I was embarrassed on several occasions when I had PIED - even on the night of me losing my virginity!

Honestly, this didn't really bother me anymore. What bothers me the most is my missed up pleasure sensors in my brain. Sometime without notice or a reason I just get livid and intolerable to any social situation around me.

I have been successfully not watching porn or even missing it for the past week. Partially due to my decision of tackling the letters P-M-O one at a time. Quite frankly I hope I can reboot with just refraining from porn.

I did read the Getting Started pdf document this website offers, I am well aware not to fantasized about porn I've watched - I have been mostly focusing on sensation with no particular thought or person. Just paying attention to my breathing and really just enjoying it.

Pardon if I share too many details, I know it's only been a week, I have only masturbated twice. This went down significantly from twice a day and I count it as a success. Honestly, I enjoyed it a lot! The orgasm was intense and it felt a lot better than when I used porn. Perhaps because I was focused on me rather than a computer screen.

Even though I did enjoy it, I did not have a chaser effect; nor would I abuse it. I am planning to eventually refrain from masturbation as well, but I am afraid if I do so now it will make me give up everything. When I tried to give up PMO before, I would do it for a few days, then I fail and relapse to a higher frequency of usage more than before.

If you reached this far, thank you for your time. Please don't feel obligated to respond, but if you do you thank you in advance

    Peace,
    Heisenberg

  2. I'm not sure about it, but yes, you can reboot only by not watching porn. However, it will take much more time, and it will be more complicated as well since you allow yourself to masturbate, which can lead you to watch porn and fantasize about it.

Just do what you think is right mate. Stay strong.

Thanks for your input! I realize it might take some time, but at least I believe I can be consistent with this approach and won't give up.

    Peace,

  5. Welcome to the site! I suppose you can reboot without quitting masturbation. It seems like you have things under control right now with masturbation. If things get out of hand, well you know what to do. Just take a decision on what you feel is necessary and stick to it. You may be Werner Heisenberg but you must never have uncertainty in your decision. Good luck!

Thanks for your input and for the pun!

For some reason last night I relapsed and was tempted to use some pics of my gf, I really miss her but she lives 4 hours away. It's a slippery slop, so I counted this as porn - and reseted my streak.

We at NoFap don't dogmatically say that you have to stop masturbating. We do encourage one another to stop masturbating, but that is not for everyone. If you want to just get away from pornography, then do it. Do it at your own speed. Who knows, maybe in a few months you will be porn free.

I would suggest to stop everything and let your brain and body heal in a natural way. build a stable life filled with hobbies and friends to share and be happy about small things in life, be emotional and feel good.

  10. At the beginning when quitting full pmo feels impossible it is better than nothing in my opinion. You might get to a stage were you do full no pmo and if your current approach helps you get there than why not. Just be aware, as others have said, your current approach takes longer to get better. Good luck with whatever you decide!

  11. I would be cautious. 4 days ago I MO'd without the P, (after 18 days of no PMO) and it was similar to your experience. I was stressed and self-conscious about some stuff in my personal life, so I rationalized a lot with myself after making that decision.

I've heard of "PMO Autopsy's" or whatever the legitimate term is, and I did that for when I MO'd. How did I get here, why did I get here, what happened, how did I feel before, during, and after, etc. I feel like this really helped me, as I felt a certain degree of shame from doing this just because I was on a 18 day streak of not MO'ing. Writing about times like these really help me pin down times when I feel weak, depressed, etc; and how I almost always would go to porn to numb myself.

For me the first 3 or 4 days were really hard to get past, physically. Have a lot of discipline and stay strong! All "superpower" talk aside it does make a difference. I don't know your habits or willpower but to me I believe it would be a slippery slope back to porn.

22 days free of PMO, 4 days free of MO. (As much as it kinda hurts to say, but the fact I'm not giving up is the important part!) Take it easy.

  13. I agree with @Mo1989 , Because you may think that No p will be easy but to be honest, i think noPMO is the easiest, we have hard time in it even when we don't M or O, and if you choose to simply stop watching P and continue to O and M, you will be having Major urges which will make your life even more difficult in NoFap,

But hey, everyone is different and that's just my opinion, I am very happy that you at least took the decision to act on your problem, You are half way there. now you just have to Heal.

Welcome to Nofap, Wish you good luck.

  14. Hello! New guy here. I have tried no P method, I have tried no M method and I have even tried giving up everything. So far I have failed. Wishing for a new start this time around. Fingers crossed.
