Nofap makes us better at talking to the opposite sex.

I was just at the dog park with my dog. This girl I never met came and sat next to me (because I was sitting in the only shaded area). We had a nice conversation. The conversation flowed and we chatted like old buddies.

Now how does this relate to nofap? Well, some people on this website say really funny things like: "she sat down and talked to you because not jerking off makes you smell different, she was attracted to your: not jerking off anymore smell.” On related topics with this website, I’ve seen people write stupid stuff like that which I think gives nofap a bad image.

Point being. What do I believe nofap helped me with while talking to that girl at the dog park: First of all, I actually wanted to talk to her, because not jerking off makes us more social butterflies. After a week now with no pmo, I had the confidence to speak my mind, make solid eye contact with her, little to no brain fog (so I was able to concentrate on what she was saying).

So I do believe in nofap. And if this was just a week without jerking off, I would really love to see what nofap is like after 120 plus days.

    Thanks for reading.

Abstaining from porn makes me more confident overall, but especially with women. I think there's a very simple reason for this. When I fap to porn, my self esteem takes a hit for a number of reasons. It makes me feel like a creep, it makes me feel like I'm not living up to my ideals, it makes me feel like I'm a slave to my impulses, and it makes me feel pathetic. Once I stop, all of those feelings are drastically reduced.

Well said. Agreed. Once I put together some momentum on nofap, I love making eye contact with the opposite sex as well. Which I suppose, makes us more attractive and appear more confident.

Good ideas. Yes, some people give nofap a bad name. I was first skeptical of nofap until I realized getting rid of porn/masturbation helps you go back to your usual self, the self without addiction/impulses/etc.

To me, how you act without porn is how you would act if you had never looked at porn. For some, this was maybe decades ago, or before they were 12 years old. In other words, it's how you act when you are "yourself" 100% of the time. This is what some call "superpowers" but it's not anything like that. It's simply the self without brain fog, disgusting thoughts, digusting images in the mind. It's their true self, which is when they are free of addiction, whether it's porn/alcohol/drugs/etc.

The shame goes away, and a lot of confidence builds up. It's almost a rush when on nofap, especially when you feel attraction towards someone, a clean attraction that is pure, without disgusting thoughts. There are ups and downs, which is life. But the trajectory still goes up, just like in the avatar above everyone's name in this forum...and of course, that spaceship logo.

Please understand that this is a journey with many ups and downs. I dont try to bring down noboby but my 3 year experience with nofap showed me that, some days you will feel like a rockstar other days you wont even be able to go outside of the house. When this happens we need to push our limits and understand that this is part of the healing process. Why im talking about this? Because it will happen soon maybe for everyone in nofap after getting strong benefits (I hope it wont happen) and nobody should be discouraged. This is life anyway. Good luck!

  6. This is true. People exaggerate and such but when you’re not jacking off you don’t have the shame which kills your confidence. Talking to people is actually enjoyable when your brain isn’t in a constant fog. Life is so much better than living in constant lust.

Also dogs are amazing icebreakers and something to talk about with people. I can’t wait to get my dog from my parents’ place soon so I can bring her with me and feel like I have a sidekick haha

I wouldn’t say I don’t have “disgusting thoughts” while on nofap. I’m still a human with a sex drive after all. While on nofap my disgusting thoughts are just towards people I meet in real life instead of a computer screen.

But then I’ve never gone longer than 16 days. Maybe a dirty mind improves beyond that.

I still live with lust, I’m just not lusting after a computer screen currently.
