I have horrible insomnia, wake up 4 times a night and only get around 3 hours of sleep a night. What follows is dizziness suicidal thoughts extreme iritation and more... Had a sleep test but no diagnosis sadly. My sleep hygiene is generally good. Anyone whith some tips? Have a apointment soon whith a psychiatrist, but whith covid that might take a while.
I use htp5 and gaba. The combination knocks me out all night. However, it doesn’t work for everyone. Had the opposite effect for my parents.
If you have trouble falling asleep at a decent time, you could try taking Melatonin. Something like Benadryl or Nyquil could also serve as a short-term solution until you are able to see a doctor.
I hate giving people the generic advice of not using phones/laptops before bed, sleep hygiene etc. My assumption is that you have already tried all these things if your sleep is really bad. I'd suggest you get bloodwork done. A comprehensive hormonal panel, and tests for vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Also try doing deadlifts 4-5 hours before bedtime. They used to knock me out most of the time even when I had terrible insomnia. For sleep aids, I recommend valerian root. And take magnesium citrate 2 hours before bed.
Man even your dog is watching your cell in bed, maybe put it away in another room and then try to sleep thinking about good memories
