I'm 20 and I have a porn addiction for a while now, I've been trying to quit but I only last like 2 or 3 days maximum without masturbating, it's really hard for me to stop thinking about sex and stuff like that I just want to progress in life and also I beleive masturbating is hindering my progress at the gym. That's why I join this community thank you

If you enjoy reading and learning I can recommend the books Your Brain on Porn and The Chimp Paradox. They both really helped me understand how the mind works in relation to porn addiction. Knowledge is power.
If you prefer videos there's information about both on YouTube.
You've come to this website so you are on the right path.
My advice is not too get down about only lasting a couple of days. The more you build up knowledge and power the stronger you will become. I believe you can beat this.

Hello, I advise you to stop using any phone or computer that access the internet for a while, give yourself a rest, stop being alone, stop all sexual fantasies, avoid bad friends, socialize more often, go to bed only when sleepy.

If you have successfully abstained for 90 days, then you can continue using the internet-enabled gadget, but filters and blockers have to be installed in them, delete all files that contain explicit materials from your devices, parental control software should also be considered. If you are brave enough to trust somebody (a friend, family member, religious leader, psychiatrist, or a counselor) you share your experience with him, Let him be there to help you and alert him whenever you feel the urge to PMO by call, text, or any other mean.

Doing the above steps would boost up your motivation, improve your willpower, and make you good at decision-making. The next step is to remove all blockers, and filters from your phones or computers, download self-help ebooks such as "internet pornography and the emerging science of addiction” by Gary Wilson, read them anytime you feel the urge.

If you can strictly adhere to the steps, I think you can quit PMO.

    Hints:

    1. Social media are poison, resume using them only when you feel healed,

    2. Instantly delete any image, text, video clip, or movie, that contain nudity, no matter how interested you are in it.

3.Go out there and look for real girls (wife, or girlfriend) to rewire yourself to a natural setting, run away from prostitutes they could not help but rather eat up your money. Good luck.

  4. Hello @Chelinni

    Welcome to NoFap!

Good luck with your journey to quit porn addiction and masturbation!

Right now this is my 8th day of not watching porn and masturbating and I am doing well to stop this addiction and stay away from the addiction so that I don't relasped this year and fail my goals to quit porn and masturbation addiction this year.

If you want to quit porn addiction due to watching porn too much and quit masturbating, download porn blocker on your computer or your phone to stay away from it so you don't relasped if you go back to watching porn and fapping. Since I go on porn on my phone I downloaded a VPN app called Blocksite which is a VPN app that blocks websites like porn websites and that app is helping me to stay away from watching porn and masturbating to porn as well. If I want to go to bed at night I charge my phone far away from my bed so that I don't end up going back to watching porn and masturbate to porn and that is why I fail myself to quit porn and masturbation addiction because I leave my phone in my bed and that is why I keep relasping and trying to stop the addiction back in 2020 and as of this year, I will challenge myself to quit watching porn and masturbating to porn this year so that I can stay away from the addiction to become a better person and have better life without porn and masturbation.

Thank a lot for the help and the information, rigth now I'm just using one social media for academic purposes but besides that I agree with you about social media, also I was starting to get addicted to constantly checking post and stuff but decided to end so I deleted all social media.

I'm shy about telling this to my psychologist but It's a step I need to take, once again thank you.

Wish you success on your journey.

Just a couple of things I would say based on my personal journey:

. Don't stress on one or two days, keep going forward.
. Try and not react emotionally, but critically to relapses.
. It's not the days that count, it's what in them.
(Not saying a streak is totally unhelpful, but it's also important to bear in mind what is in your days also)

    Wishing you well.
