I find it significant that the Lord's Prayer, given to us by Christ himself contains the words " lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil". Knowing that Christ gave us this prayer and knowing that all things done by Him are well done, the significance of the Lord's prayer cannot be over stated. Also, the prayer is short with no superfluous words - it only includes praise and supplications that Christ knows to be essential. Clearly, Christ has shown us, with this prayer, that the need to pray to the Father for help with temptation is a highly important act for all humans.

I wish to add, that in my view, prayer from the heart is the most effective. Whether the words are well known and memorized, like the Lord's Prayer, or whether they are simply my own words, when I devote the time completely to heartfelt prayer, patiently and without distraction, it is during these times that I feel most refreshed by conversation with God.

Totally agree. Thank you for sharing. My go to method when being tempted is to recite the Lord's prayer in my head till I forget why I started reciting it. Works wonders.

Very much agreed. When giving up porn, it's important to find "replacement behaviours" to replace our bad habits with good ones. I used to fap every morning and every night and I have started praying every morning and night instead. I highly recommend it.

Right now I pray the LORD's prayer in the morning, along with a Psalm. When I have a shower, I pray straight from the heart. And then at night, I recite the Creed and pray the same Psalm I prayed in the morning. The next day, I move on to the next Psalm.
