I have a superb trick to fool porn addiction

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, May 27, 2021.

  1. Guys, I don't know whether you will like this trick or not, The trick is --
    Step 1
When you have urges it doesn't mean that your brain is craving for porn but it craves for dopamine. All you have to do is just bought some food items ( fast food) and collect them one by one as I have collected different kinds of chocolates.
    Step 2
Whenever your urges hit you, just get a food material from your collection and consume it with your favorite music. Believe me it really works, I myself tested it and I was on my day 44 but the urge arrived after I have taken my lunch and I relapsed
    Conclusion :
You are just replacing your porn addiction with your food addiction as food addiction is easier to quit from porn addiction

Nice one, I did the same with video games, binging them, it replaces your PMO addiction. And your right about that dopamine thing. Sadly it didn't work out for me, I often still relapsed after game binges, cause your brain eventually looks for more dopamine anyway.

Be careful with this idea. Food addiction is still an addiction and can cause major problems in your life the further it grows. But yes, a sugary snack when hit with an urge can help to avoid a relapse for a time being. Try throwing in doing 10 jumping jacks whenever an urge hits and listening to music as well.

what happens when you binge eating junk food

  5. You probably become inactive, in which case you might spend a lot of time sitting in front of a screen ... and there's a good chance it's connected online - you see where this can go.

.. So you were using chocolates and it didn't work because you had a meal? So it doesn't work all the time then?

This is terrible advice, and all you're doing is replacing the PMO addiction with other addictions. It's like telling a person who is quitting smoking to take a few shots of vodka every time they feel the urge to smoke a cigarette.

Your brain is still getting that surge of dopamine that it wants, and you aren't giving your dopamine receptors a chance to regenerate.

Although everyone here seems to think this is a bad idea, I think OP has a point. The way we overcome this addiction is by replacing it with something else. That's the ONLY WAY to overcome it in my experience. So I definitely believe that what he's doing is working for him.

BUT I recommend that he replaces food with another healthier option, such as running or pushups for example.

  8. This methid is good only on the starting 2-4 weeks. Then the brain will find a way and make you relapse.

  9. In Thanks For Sharing, (movie about sex addiction) the gf character played by Gwynneth Paltrow has an exercise addiction.

I think the addict mind looks for simple answers BY DEFAULT. That is the nature of an addiction, it may not be easy as in the case of compulsive exercise which requires more effort, but what that has in common with low effort addictions is they're all SIMPLE answers and basically involves one thing. Apparently there's neurological evidence that indicates the brain cannot think long term in addiction or the capacity for it is diminished, which would be needed in understanding the big picture.

So yes, there is a point, but these posts are ALWAYS just one point - which is way too simplistic as far as how life and reality works. Often it seems online communication completely ignores context of any kind anymore, if it gets "too complicated" people will just ignore most of the information.

So in a more comprehensive contextual understanding, it is also not about "being bad." If your computer isn't working right you don't seriously think it's "bad." You know it's by nature systematic, and it's about getting things in working order. A systematic thing is also not a matter of a single point. Both our physiology and psychology is also systematic. To think we can outsmart such a complex system by one or two little trick here and there simply doesn't reflect an understanding of it being systematic.

I will say though that it is possible to be more intuitive with it, but it probably won't happen if you're conditioned to think everything in life has a simple on-demand solution like a streaming video service. I'm sure there are people who will try to sell you on some form of that idea though, and we seem to sell ourselves on the basic idea and come up with simple solutions even if we don't know that much about it. But we can't seriously think we can just walk into a job as head of an IT department with one little hack or make it big on Wall Street with that kind of thinking, as if there hasn't been intelligent people who actually knows a lot more about it before us who just didn't stumble across this little trick and they've all been wasting their time making it more complicated.

Yep, But urges also not arrive all time (24 ×7) and if by chance it arrives ,you should also use some porn blockers and other phone lock apps which delays your porn arousal. You can try running or push ups as well at that time , we are nofappers I believe that almost all of have at least have 1 or 2 trick(s) that can work in that condition until your tummy feel free after some time so that you can have your chocolates or anything.

  11. Hey buddy ! You are absolutely right, I know how harmful are chocolates for our health but our brain always like fast food, I mean to say that our brain already know that what are the benefits of having healthy food but it always craves for fast food, chocolates contains high sugar level that can help you manage your urge, yeah definitely it will release dopamine but I am not talking about Reebot from pmo, I created this thread to replace pmo with fast food, yes we will not get any benefit but after some days you will find that your urges for pmo is going down and craving for choclate going up, I am replacing my pmo addiction with another addiction as I think for me quitting food addiction is quite easier as I have done it earlier
