The hardest part

I've been trying to give up PMO for years, but for me, the hardest part of this struggle is that small part of me that still doesn't want to give up. Most of the time I'm determined to quit, but some times when I'm in the wrong mindset there's that inner voice that tries to convince me that giving up is not what I really want, and the thought of never PMO-ing again makes that inner voice angry, like a child throwing a tantrum. These are often the points where I fail. It goes beyond keeping healthy habits, self discipline, etc., as it's a full-on battle of willpower at my core, questioning why I keep those habits in the first place.

These mindsets are often triggered after some kind of stimulation in my genitals, accidental or otherwise (could be e.g. as a result of the sensation of genitals rubbing against bedsheets or waking up from a wet dream).

Of course, I don't actually hear voices... I'm being somewhat metaphorical here! But does anybody else experience similar 'inner dialogues'? How do you overcome them?
